Going Military

just wondering whats the difference between the marine recon and marine corps? currently i'm in my afjrotc class in high school and if i do decide to go into the military i can prolly go in as an officer since i already have a high rank so luckily i wont have to go in as a basic airman. and blazeman, thanks for helping me out, you'll make a great nurse and i hope that u dont get hurt or anything.

The Recon and Force Recon units operate under the Department of the Marine Corps.
For all intents and purposes, they are the "special ops" of the Marine Corps.
Just don't ever refer to them as Marine Special Forces to a recruiter or they'll probably laugh at you.
The most similar unit would be the SEALs, probably.
But it seems to me that Force Recon is kept about as secret as Delta.

Recon just means its a special group. Meaning they chose who joins into the group. And there small so that they are fast moving and are stealth like.

A corps is a freakin huge amount of people you have like the 101st Airborne Corps, 81st Airborne Corps.

O ya on the subject on Delta Force its a amazing place its kinda a city in a city. From the out side you can see just about everything...its huge and its heavily gaurded and if they find you watching the place like servalence on the place they can shot you.

Also Blazeman, where do you hope to be stationed? I hope to be settled in San Diego and Europe when I eventually join the Navy. I know my sisters ship transports Marines here and there (USS Gator or something like that), it'd be cool to run into you

 

Looks like i'll be stationed in 2 areas Fort Bragg, NC or a Base in Europe.
