I have no Idea what Graphics Card to stick in my PC. People say that price range is a good benchmark to start off from, and I want it to be under 280$. Its going to be a Gaming Rig, not hardcore though (No 400$ on a Gfx card ty) As well as alot of heavy Graphic Editing Software, 3D Modelling Programs, and Landscape Rendering Software. (Photoshop CS 2, 3DS Max 8, Vue Infinite, Terragen, CS:S, Halo, FEAR, stuff like that...) Can anyone help me out here? Thanks.
PCI-E: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814150139 -XFX GeForce 7900 GT i know $35 extra (from your $280) might be a bit, but i think its worth it. AGP: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814130275 eVGA GeForce 7800 GS
Download and rup cpu-z find if you have agp or pci-e and if you dont have at least 1gb or ram atm, i'd reccomend putting some money aside and gettin another stick of 512mb as you'll need that in games.
This one is Definitely worth its money, but I simply can fit it into my budget, I could wait and see if the price drops within the next month, so ill keep checking on it, Thanks Ive been meaning to get another stick xD I have 512 MB DDR Ram right now, most games run fine (Get SOME lag during firefights with 30+ players on a sizable map during CS Source). I forgot to mention I have a PCIe x16 Slot.
EDIT: =( Skip it... missed the part were you said no $400 GFX Cards. I will find another one. I like this one for cheaper..: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814102678
as everyone else has said 7900GT performs slightly above the 7800GTX and uses less energy and produces less heat.
Lolz, I think it was kinda funny. Okay, lets get back on topic. I'd also suggest you to wait, they all explain why ^^ there But if you still want to get it now, I'd say. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814130284
