Well guys i know alot of you know quite a bit about computers. So my question is, is there anyway possible to get rid of or delete Internet Explorer (MSIE) off my computer? I have noticed, that most of the popups or adaware i get on my computer is in the IE program files.

Yeah, it would be nice to get a reply here. I would like to know it too. I've been using Mozilla Firefox instead, but i have now switched to SBC Yahoo! Browser. It's WAY better than Firefox. Anyways, hope you will get a deseant answer soon.

I don't believe it's possible to remove IE. From what I've heard is that IE is integrated in a bunch of other applications on your computer, as well as whatever Windows version you use. So removing it would eff up your operating system big time.

If your gettin popups and such...
    Try SpywareBlaster
    and get a anti-spyware program like adaware or spybot S & D..
Just google em if you need them..

btw spywareblaster stops spyware before it hits your computer and so far there's about 5000 protections for IE, FF, and restrictions.

    lol

That won't help, i have tried it. Programs that i have used to get stuff off my comp are, Adaware, norton, avast, spywareblaster, mcaffee, microsoft antispyware.

Also, in the add/remove programs, there is nothing there to remove Internet Explorer.

Do you think it would mess up my computer if i deleted the files from the program files folder? Because if it doesn't that's what i was planning on doing before.

And reinstalling it so, then everything that was hooked to IE is gone.

Yes because if you delete the files it'll definitely intefere with the windows components..what about switching over to firefox and making it your default browser.

Isn't IE kinda important? Because I'm pretty sure it's what Windows Explorer uses, and you kinda need that. If you're not using IE there's little chance it will be harming you...

Yes you can remove it completly.
Do i suggest this, no. It can cause some major damage to your PC.
I suggest removing the icon from your Start Menu and Desktop and making Opera or FireFox your default browser. :)

Well yeah, i do have opera, i have had it as my default browser for about 6 months now, and firefox for a year before that.

But still get popups, and they still come up, as coming from IE.
