every 5-10 min i go from 80fps to 15-20fps for about 20 sec, very annoying since its a fps game.. it might be overheating or not enough power

i think my card is overheating... my mobo temp is around 50c.. 52 at most and 45 at least..

    i have this psu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817255010

powers up a x800gto and a couple of fans... so im not sure the exact problem

"thermal throttling" cna fix overheating but yes performance is killed.

I'd have to think, get a temp monitoring tool and check that.

that is a rather ----ty PSU though.

    Scan for Spyware/bugs etc.

Close background applications eg. MSN, TS, etc. etc...

Check the Optimum Graphics settings, then put them down low. Worked for me strangely, there was something in my mod folders slowing it down.

Delete Mods etc, cause lag spikes in game sometimes.

If you're on a network make sure someone else isn't using it.
