If any of you read my other post about how to play .avi files well i downloaded the codec pack and it works great.

But now i want to know if there is any way to get an avi file on a disc because when i use windows mediplayer it doesnt let me. Do i need to get some sort of converter? And if i do can anyone tell me of any good free ones?

You can simply burn avi's on discs as if they were any other data, you just need a burning program (like nero for example) to do it.

I take it that u want to play these avi's on a standalone player, if thats so then unless your standalone is divx compatable then burning them as a data disc is no good to you.

To play on a standalone that isnt divx compatible you will need to reencode the files.

Try googling for DIKO, its free and easy to use, and will convert the avis to either SKVCD ir KDVD.

You can also use WinAVI (can get from download.com) to switch to a DVD format and use and Burning program to burn it to the disc.. pretty simple. Enjoyy :)

if you want to burn it so you can watch it on TV, then you will have to do what 05gfx says, i ont think DVD players recognize Avi files. Correct me if im wrong.
