directx 10 is the only reason to get vista. it's a new API for graphics cards and most new games will be coded for it eventually. at this time the only cards compatabel with DX10 are the GeForce 8800GTX and the 8800GTS. ATI will launch x2800 early next year which will have dx10 support. for nwo though don't worry too much as no games are amde for DX10(and DX10 is not backwards comaptabel so a game made for DX10 has to be coded again for DX9, though a all DX10 cards work with DX9)
I'd say get a upgrade for now. Your computer will last enough for another ~2 years, 'till it's a must. Myself is getting a dx9 card because they're quite cheap here. Also, if you want a SLi ready mobo, drop the one you got in your prebuild and get a eVGA 680i SLi mobo. They're very expensive but very well worth it. Still, I'd say upgrade. The ram xelink chose is fine, but I'd get ram with some faster latencies but it'll work. PSU is great. For the rest, if you need any other stuff like HDDS, dvd drives, card readers and sort, that stuff you can buy now because they won't really lose their worth fast and will be usefull for a long time.
it's about the cheapest RAM fo the choices it also has OK timings. remember this is a pentium 4 here - bandwidth matters more than latency in this instance and the other RAM in his system runs at looser timings so it won't matter.
