Though I like the idea of having a laptop to bring over to other places if im bored and such. Since I live in a town with EV-DO from so I can get wireless internet in the car or whatever. But I am paying about $500 more for lesser things, but the only games Im probably gonna play are CSS, Crysis, UT3, and WoW with everything maxed. So what would you guys reccomend getting. I won't be getting this until January or Febuary, though I dont think DDR3 will make it into laptops anytime soon. Also I dont think the 9800 Series are comming out for a while from what I looked up, since the G92 what came out in November was the 8800 GT.

well with everything maxed, dual 8800 ultras or dual 8800GTs can't mantain past 50FPS all too well on very high @ 1680*1050.
that said take it into consideration... then again 25FPS seems fairly smooth in the single palyer version of crysis and in the multiplayer, you could probably tweak settings etc. and stil get good frames with dual 8700s

FYI the 8700M is NOT based on the 8800GTs core.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of...rocessing_Units

it's older 80nm, it has 96 SPs(not 116) and it has a narrow 128bit memory bus, not a 256bit bus. the 8700M is weaker than an 8800GTS and when you factor in the fact that it has poor SLi drivers, it'll probably be slower than a single 8800GTS in a majority of cases.

if you want a more portable desktop(gaming laptops have poor battery life and NEED to be plugged in constantly) then it's a consideration.

Yeah, I will prob and wait til what else comes out for newer laptop graphics. I saw the alienware has dual 7950 GTX's for around 3.5k, but I'm not so sure about buying an alienware after all the bad things I heard of them overheating from thier gaming laptops. Though I was looking at voodoo, but thats out of my budget.

Really, it depends whether you want easy mobility.

I personally would go with the desktop for two reasons:
-You'll get more for your money.
    -Easier to upgrade.
