Gamerenders // Ripping Renders

Hey all,

Since a few weeks time Gamerenders has more and more complains about ripping images from deviantart and cgtalk. Those images are forbidden to render and to use in your signatures! There is no discussion possible on this, and violating these rules will result in a punishent.
- First time: Raised warning level. PM and suspended account for one days!
- Second time: Raised warning level. PM and suspended account for one week!
- Multiple times: Banned from gameredenders.

Yet again, there is no discussion posible about this!

People are making money with those images and they would hate to see it whored in signatures. They can take legal action for using those images. Lucky enough nobody did so far.

what if we give credit to the person who made it?
No, thats still not allowed.

I feel that first warning shud be a p/m!! not a 2 day suspension! Cos if ppl don't know if it was from da or cgtalk then it is not their fault!
True, i changed the first time to 1 day suspension and added a second time.

What if we ask their permission, and they say yes?
Written permission, in the form of an email, yes. Post it with your render and be assured that we will verify.

What if they where only "showcasing" the picture, and not selling it on the store area of the site. Is that allowed?
No, still not allowed. Consider this the same with a sig you place in the showoff area...you dont want that ripped aswell...

what about images in the stock Photos area?
On DA there is discription by every stock image. Follow that discription and you wont find yourself in probs

some peeps here dont know when its ripped or not they just check some render sites and see some cool renders and just use it and dont know wether it is art from cg or da. Also i posted Da art here but i asked the guy personally and i got permission.

What renders? What?! What if I accidentally use a render that someone ripped? I am scared to even make sigs now...Please explain...

 

I understand what you mean, but this is the intenet, people steal pics and then somone google for images and maybe finds images that was taken from DA or cgtalk... Big chance they would know. And if they publish images on the net then the can get anti-rip filter infront if they dont want anyone to use there image in a sig or do whatever with it...

But I understand why you have to post this. I will follow the rules.

But my personal opinion is that a sig is a sig... unless you claim you drew the render yourself it is okey to use renders... I mean wtf it is only a sig...

 

thanx for the info altough i dont enter alot da i mostly render my images wich are games and if i use anny render wich isnt mine they mostly taken from here and i +rep or cred the person if i use!

 

It's Annoying People Say, When I Use Your Render Ill Cred You, Why Not Cred Him Right Now Instead Later, And Later You Wont Get Your Creds Later..
