What i meant is that if admins do it then it can be like a place where they put creds into the system so no1 holds them and the system picks the number not a player, i dunno' i think if you do it this way people will think your being unfair and they will argue.

 

but you can't argue while there is an admin involved.

I think if we have one, Staff should run it. We had some in the past and had alot of complaints about it being unfair.

hence the rule after the matter.

We are looking at maybe changing it a little, but we will see.

 

Yeh that's what i thought complaints about being unfair, if staff do it atleast then maybe they wont.

But couldn't you make it into the system so knowone needs to handle it it will just draw tickets when ever?

 

Thats why there is a script in the works, to take the unfairness out of the equation, if it is automated, it is a fair system, but we have to make sure the script does exactly what it is designed to do.

 

But also; how would you get the numbers without being biased ?

Here's the reasons why this should be left to GR staff:

1) If a user picks the numbers, they will be biased. That means that some member would have previous knowledge of the winning numbers, and with that, could possibly influence the results. Even if you PM an admin the winning set, this in no way prevents you from distributing the numbers to members.

2) The whole point of a lottery is to make money (ex: State Lotteries). Hence, only GR should be allowed to make it, as it would allow them to remove credits from the system.

3) A lottery would be much more respectable and appealing to members if they KNEW that no members would be responsible for the game, and as such could trust without a doubt in the system. Thus, it must be maintained and developed in house, by an admin or moderator.
