Gamerender: Too Many Connections!

Yeah i agree with this 100%, its getting realy bad latly, someone said it would be bad to do this because of people comeing from big tutorial sites but it would be just the same these same people comeing here and getting the "to meny connections" error, i mean it only takes 1 min to register if thay want to join thay will.

Plus you could just close of everything but tutorials.

does any1 here wanna volunteer to pay the extra money for a better server every month cause from what ive heard this server is very expensive and i doubt shaggy will pay so much for a server if he could get a better one for the same price

i think this is a good idea. im deffinately for it.

 

Money is the issue, a good server is VERY expensive. I dont think it's possible to do without more donations.

 

Why not run a raffle to raise some money. Collect donated psds, tutorials etc that are offered as FR to the winner and have an entry fee of say USD1-2 per entry to raise more money.

All the proceeds go to getting a better server.

I'm sure some of the pros on the site wouldn't mind donating their work or time in return for a better server on which to peddle their wares.

Just a suggestion.

good idea here...

we have 2 seperate forums, GameRenders and a "sister site". All guests are redirected to the sister site. When they have 'x' posts there, they gain access to GameRenders. We can integrate the database(s) so that this will be seamless.

dont think its that good'a idea cause it would mean getting more staff on, shaggys having enough trouble handling the new kid (i think that was the reason) and only the one site. I think things are fine the way they are, sure theres a little bit of downtime each night but if you can't live without Gamerenders for 10 mins then u need to get out more. The sites popular at the moment and its not goin to stop, its a great site but we all need to chip in and help. The thing is most sites will have these problems wen they are the size of gamerenders. It will just have to wait until Shaggys kids a bit older and he can become more available.

 

Nice idea, but i think it may encourage some to join, but also alot to not bother atall....May end up losing people rather than making the community bigger.. In my opinion..

well, my idea will require more staff, but the staff will be forum-specific. A staff member can be staff on the sister forum, and not on gr.

 

we definatly need to upgrade or do something. This is driving me insane ><. 5 minutes for a topic to load. Driving me Crazy!

At first I thought it was my crappy connection, i guess not ;o we always have 100+ guests, we should make them all register before they could enter the forum .
