    ok a few people seemed to like my border and sig so i thought i'd do a tutorial on it for photoshop ok... also you can just use the border in this tut as well.

    1 open up a new document in photoshop, use a signature size that you like (i am using 350/110)

    2. Colour the background in black and select some abstract brushes, change your foreground colour to white and brush around with an asortment of brushes until you get sumthen like this

    [IMG]

    3. now add a brightness and contrast layer by clicking the little black and white ying yang thingy at the bottom of the layers palletteand going to brightness/contrast, these are the settings i used... you do not have to do the same. (dont forget you can fiddle around if you want.
    brightness=+24
    contrast=+53
    it might look sumthen like this ...

    [IMG]

    4. now its time to add a render, find a render of your choice, (if you want one) and make it to the apropriate size by going to image>image size when you have done that, select the move tool and drag it to you sig background, (or copy and paste) then select the magic wand tool and make a selection on an emtpy space on your render layer, go to select>feather and give it a 5 pix feather, then press delete 1-2 times to blend the edges in do this in all of the empty spaces of you render layer. lower the opacity of the layer if you wish to blend it more
    mine looks like this...

    [IMG]

    5. now to add some colourmake sure your top most layer is selected, go to the ying yang thing and go to colour balance mess around with the settings until your happy, i used these settings...
    modtones = -34 -9 0
    Shadows = +22 0 -45
    Highlights = 0 0 0
    mine looks like this...

    BORDER
    1. create a new layer over the top of everything and mess around with the black and white gradient by going up and down on the new layer till you get something like this... (it may take a while try doin half ones and stuff)

    [IMG]

    2 now select the polygonal lassoo tool by right clicking on the lassoo tool and seletcting " polygonal lassoo tool", hold down shift and make a selection on your gradient layer like this...

    [IMG]

    3 press delete and then duplicate the layer ( right click on layer in layers pallette and go to duplicate layer) then select the top border layer and right click on it in the layers pallette and go to blending options>drop shadow default settings, then go to emboss> pillow emboss size 0 it should look like this i also cranked up the contrast on the top layer to make it look better (image>ajusments>Brightness/contrast...

    [IMG]

    4 now make some selections like this on the top border layer and press delete.

    [IMG]

    ok thats the border done, you can do any text effect you like but i will show you how to do one anyways...

    1. find a nice pixel font and type your name in WHITE under the border layers but above everything else, then duplicate the layer and go to blending options on the top text layer (right click on the layer. blending options) go to stroke and give it a 1 pixel black stroke, press OK then lower the opacity of the top text layer to 45 % now select the bottom text layer and go to filter>stylize>wind defualt settings if you want to have it look more spikey like mine press control "F" to do wind again, then go to image rotate canvas 90 clockwise, and press ctrl f once if you only added one wind filter, and press ctrl f twice if you used 2 wind filters (hope thats not to confusing) repeat this proccess untill you are the right way up again.
    here is the final result... I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO SEE SOME RESULTS IF ANY OF YOU HAVE MADE THIS SIG!!!!

    hope you enjoyed my tutorial. ;(

    :huh: what happened to the border??? thats y it doesn't look metalic, try using a black and white gradient... do the blending options step... and dupplicate the layer so you can delete "techno" selections off the top one :) then it should look metalic, other than that the sigs good!! :)
