I am posting this because I am sick, and tired or FR abuse.

I go around the marketplace here a lot and buy manymany things for full rights. And I am really starting to take a hit. When I buy FR that is the end of the road. I have never resold FR to anything, I usually give away LR. I think the rules on full rights should really tighten.

Back in the day (the same day that staff claims they are trying to make everything like) there used to be a strictly enforced rule... A signature may ONLY be sold for "full rights" ONCE. No buying FR, selling FR, buying FR, selling FR, buying FR, selling FR. You get the picture, I think.

I recently purchased a FR tag off of someone and spent a great chunk of my Friday night making a tutorial on it (for the community!), it added up to about 3 hours of hard work. I am all happy I got it done, one of my first tutorial writes. Well, in the past month I have purchased credits with $ and I thought maybe I should sell something helpful for once, something from a well known artist for relatively cheap. This way I can in turn give back to the community with these credits. Well I post my tutorial thread and about 20 minutes later someone posts. "There is already a tutorial on this sig HERE" and links to it. Do I have a right to be extremely mad!?!? lol

Is there anything we can do to sharpen our "FR" rules? Or is this a never ending downward vortex. Signatures are like STD's nowadays, people buy them and redistribute parts of them, or redistribute the tutorials, and then sell them again for FR. I believe FR has to be still allowed, but something has to change!

Another quick question, if you sell FR to a tag that you did not make but had FR for, but before you sold it, is it right that you made a tutorial on it and gave it away for free? Shouldnt these threads come down?

    Thanks,
    Alex

    Your pants eh?
i couldnt agree more with your last statement thing, when you sell a tag for fr you should do everything to get rid of it from other people's grasp other than the buyer of the fr tag.
Also i do believe fr tags should be sold one time only.

That entire thing has kind of gown down the drain. While the idea of it was great, it probably gets a little tough to maintain and keep up with. I wasn't a staff member during that time, but I do remember that coming into effect. I was one of the few people who actually understood wtf the rule was saying -.-

I wouldn't mind bringing this back as it is getting out of control and your points are correct. Just not sure how we'd be able to keep up with who sells what for FR and everything. As for the tutorials part, I agree with you but I'd rather see that be taken care of between the seller and buyer. If you want to be a truthful seller and everything, you should be taking care of that yourself. As the buyer, you should request it be taken down/edited if you see it.

    Hmmm.
I feel once you sell something for FR you should swipe it from your computer. You still have wearing rights and such, but you've given ownership to someone else. As for the continuous buying and selling, FR should only be sold by the owner once. Then if the customer who bought it wants to sell it then that's completely fine, it's his now. But like you said, if you sell something for FR by no means should you give it for FR to another person. Any rights at that, since your not the actual "owner" anymore. That's jsut my opinion on it.

    Merged Post:

For that idea to go in effect, it would take an admin, moderator or special staff member to approve of the FR selling on that topic. Nobosy can trade until a modertaor has it's aproval etc. This way it can be logged. At the same time though, there are many sites. Poeple usually belong to more than 1 so stopping it is kind of inevidable. Martketplace traffic would also decrease due to waiting. It's not an easy thing to do.

FR is just saying you can do virtually anything except claim it for yourself.

And I do agree in only one of the points you made, and thats the one about the tutorial.

If you buy something for FR, a user shouldn't be able to still sell the tut. Period.

Thats the only thing I agree with you on.

Heres my view. Full rights, means you have full rights. You can go take a piss on the sig if you wanted to, because you have FULL RIGHTS. If you wanna buy a tag/tutorial then turn around and sell it again, go for it, why? Because its simply yours now. People in my opinion are misusing the word full rights when they sell it in an auction or something. Oh well nothing will change. This action is more community based more than staff based.

I agree with Kira, I mean people sell stuff for FR, but then they post it on there site? seriously wtf. I am gonna spend 1k for something, then a day later you post it on your site.

I say that if you sell something for FR, the only rights you get is that you made.

And what this cant rip layers if you buy it rule? I mean I can do anything I want to it since I own it, you dont own it anymore. Its not yours it mine

why would you sell something for FR if you cant get more moeny out of it? then you cna better get it for LR..

and it isn't the fould of the tag sold multiply times but it's yours.. you should have informed better and asked the one who sold, if the was a tutorial made out of it etc..

lol, it's hilarious when someone is selling a tutorial, and the same thing is free on other forums. But it is pretty messed up how people still sell the tutorial for a sig they don't own FR to anymore, and should be changed.

not really, its like selling posting rights to a tag, and then selling the tag of FR.

but the rates would go down. And at least it is no longer GR-refundable. When anything happens over a messanger, staff has to be in the convo for it to be in any way refundable.

The tutorial that was written for a tag I now own, and tutorial I wrote for it, was written and posted about 3 FR people before me, that is where my STD comparison comes in.

Axiom - I agree. I was around then too and it is one of the hardest things I have ever seen staff try to do. I think it could be done but something I really believe will be needed is a sectional mod for the marketplace, something I have been stressing for a while.

I strongly have to disagree with this rule - there would be WAY too many problems for many members of the forum.
From what I understand, you are trying to impose a rule which states that full rights can only be sold once? Which basically means that only the artist who creates the tag can sell it for full rights once, and the person who purchases it has no choice but to either keep it for him/herself or to sell it for learning rights? That's ridiculous!
I purchase countless amount of tags from many artists in Gamerenders, but if you imposed a rule such as the one mentioned above, you would decrease business for many artists in the forum.
I can see your view since if this rule was imposed, it would make things simpler. But there is NO way of knowing whether a tag has been sold before, or not. I currently own roughly 40 tags full rights, I am not even sure if half of them have been sold before, or not.
When you purchased that tag, YOU should have asked whether it has been sold before, or not. (I always ask these kinds of questions, because in Gamerenders, it is buyer beware.)
You could have completely avoided your problem if you asked a simple question - this rule does NOT need to be imposed.

If a majority of the members feel a rule such as the one needs to be imposed, than I strongly recommend that you look at the effects of implementing this rule, and see if something like this is even achievable. There are way too many tags on the market at the moment (500+), who is honestly going to keep track if the tag has been sold before or not? And what would happen to the tags that people have already purchased for full rights ONLY because they knew they could re-sell them? You can't simply change this rule! It will only create more problems, and I feel there are bigger problems that need to be taken care of in this forum.
I'm not going to be like most members and rant on why I feel this rule should not be imposed, rather, I'll bring up an alternative. How about if a rule is imposed that states ALL tags/tutorials being sold/auctioned must state whether it has been sold before or not (Does not need to state every single person who has owned it, as that is absolutely crazy.) and it must state whether a tutorial has been made on it or not. (Just something along the lines of that, it can be modified to add extra rules, etc.)
Although, there is 1 problem I see with my rule, since there are many members who do not know if there is a tutorial on the tag they have purchased or whether it has been sold before or not; however, it is still a MUCH better alternative to the idea brought forward above, at least in my opinion.
I feel when you purchase a tag - you can do whatever you want with it, it's yours! When you purchase something from real life, lets say a painting, you can sell it to somebody if you would like, and that person can sell it to somebody if they would like as well. If you were not able to sell it to somebody else, I'm 99.9% sure that a normal person would think twice before purchasing it, as you would be stuck with it.
It would also only create more fraud in Gamerenders, because honestly speaking, who is going to purchase a tag for full rights and just keep it sitting on their computer? People would never purchase tags for full rights if anything, you barely make half your money when you sell tags for LR/PR, etc.

im a old member he and have seen alot in my day, in my opion GR will not go back to the way it was. fr tags were never as much of a problem as it is today.that is mainly because at first mostly everything was free tuts, psds, renders, etc i dont think those days before when pegaues sold (i believe ) the first tut and made so much (it was an amazing quality of a tut btw) but since then the chain began and people could see the profits from selling tuts and all the other resources which brought gr into the expensive days basically what im trying to say is that gr wont be exactly free again (unless mods go crazy) so the selling of fr tags will continue but the reselling should be limited (i've seen tags owned over 20 people, it was a huge scam forgot what tag it was)
