If you get a trial of DreamWeaver, then you have it for 30 days. I would at least get a trial of DreamWeaver, check out more @ http://www.macromedia.com/software/dreamweaver/ Unfortuneately, you won't be getting this program for £20. :D
I have used FrontPage at my school, but we also have DreamWeaver, and since it is better, we only use it nowadays. If £20 is extra pocket money for you, then get FrontPage ASAP, because that is a good deal. I would get it, and it's not like DreamWeaver makes better web pages than Frontpage (FP), it's just more advanced. I did my coding with Notepad for the longest time, and beleive it or not, I probably prefer Notepad to DreamWeaver (DW), because DW supports Internet Explorer strongly, and IE is overrated.

Also, FP has all you will need to do with tables and text and links and images, so I say go for it, you won't be wasting your money. B)

PS- If you have MS Word, it is a step up from editing in Notepad, but it's not as good as FP.

It only "supports it strongly" if you set it that way. If you go into the settings you can set what browsers you want to make your page compatible for and it will search through and find code that doesn't work in those browsers. Then it will tell you the code and which browser it doesn't work it. So you can make it "support" Mozilla, Netscape or IE.

I use frontpage, but its only to set up tables faster, I would have to say that dream weaver kinda sucks, and more over adobes go live is worse than both of em. I would go to http://www.asp.net site and get the program they have out which does asp coding for ya and then after that do frontpage to do some more graphic stuff.

Never knew that, at my school, we use DW and use behavior scripts that are only available in IE 5.5, beause my school only uses IE.
Also, Mark WLI, thanx for the link, I'll give ASP a try... B)

    Dreamweaver is a nice program.

But notepad is the best. It comes with your computer, its free, its simple to use, and you can always ask me for help. :)

    Notepad > All :D

    NERF NOTEPAD!

I personally think its a lil too powerful for some people ;) first off you can make ANY file (just about) and edit anything since everything is possible to open in notepad... even music! Its funny but true.

I don't like notepad too much, if you want to try to code a whole site in notepad go ahead but WYSIWYG are the best type of editors :)
