Hey there, i recently bought the screen-capture program called Fraps and have been having problems when trying to compress the .AVI files that it produces when you record. Many of you will know that the files it makes are huge, and NEED to be compressed. Someone suggested a program called VirtualDub, when trying to compress the file into .AVI DivX format (100000000x smaller =O ) i get an error message saying: Video Compression Error: The Source Image Format Is Not Acceptable. (Error Code -2) Do you have any idea why this would happen? How i can fix this? Thanks a lot. mX. Merged Post: Or maybe you could suggest another good program for video compression? Ty.
try any of these http://www.xmpeg.net/website/ 15 day free trial http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/converter/ Basic Video Editing http://www.geovid.com/VidCrop/
Just open the file in Windows Media Maker and then export it as whatever file type you want. You could make custom export settings and it will automatically render the video for you. That's probably the easiest way to do it bro, if you don't have a decent conversion or video editing program.
fraps is free but doesn't let you have all the features unless u buy it. neways it looks like it just doesn't accept .avi files =\
