What are you going to do after the battery depletes? Are you going to send it back to Apple for a battery replacement for $60 + $6.95 shipping? I heard iPod batteries lasts around 2 years...and this is a procedure I'm sure many wouldnt like to go through as you also lose all your music/files after the replacement.

I had my mind set on getting an iPod Video but then I thought of this and the whole plan halted, I wish Apple would quickly announce a newer iPod with Video features as well PLUS removable/easily replacable battery pack.

    What do you think?

THis is Apples long-term plan. TO keep gaining income on a product, no matter what the owner does. THey know that iPods are just fads.. but they'll still be making a ton of money down the road.. they won't change it.

It still uses a battery, a rechargable battery that after a while wastes, and since its not removable they charge you 60 dollars to repair

Well, of course I'd replace it... well, until Creative releases an MP3 player that can play ACC files as well

im guessing the battery is connected to cables and probably not in the back, it could be anywhere. Its not just open from the back, pull it out, you have to cut the cables then go get a battery which they dont sell in stores

    For... $60? :D

Well anyways, when my battery dies I think I'd probably just buy a new whatever's good/hot at that time. =P

Honestly I don't see the need for a $400 portable music player so I just bought a $50 shuffle off ebay.

Hmm, I'm using an IPod shuffle and it lasts 5 hours before it runs out and I need to recharge it. Didn't know it would eventually die
