I have TOO many fonts, and its really slowing down my computer. Is there anyway that I can improve this with a font manager. Does photoshop have a plugin or something that it loads only the fonts that I want rather than ALL of them?

Creds will be given to helpful answers.

If not here is an idea for a add-on or possibly bundled with PS3.

On boot you get dialog on which 'Font profile' to load. Obviously there will be 'default', and 'all'. Aside from that, you should be able to make your own font profiles with the fonts you want. You should be able to open multiple profiles at once.

Someone should submit that to adobe.

Its not a matter of deleteing them. I want them ALL still, just don't want them to load with photoshop all at once.

once you add them there automatically going to appear on PS so no point in stopping it. Dude seriously its slowing down you pc. ONLY good advise to do it delete them seriously they might looks cool and all but i wouldn't let some text font slow down my pc. ;)

can i see how much text you have in your folder. this way i can tell how much ram it might be taking away depending on your pc ;)

photoshop is gonna load all fonts that are installed in the Windows/fonts folder im assuming you are using windows and using a font manager will help I use X-fonter and it will let you load/unload the fonts you need as you need them

    Merged Post:

just have a seperate folder on your computer with your download fonts then load them into windows that way

Yea it gets annoying for me too since I downloaded like 1000 fonts in a .rar folder and installed them and God damn it's a pain in the ass finding a good font when I open photoshop.
