Hi, I have a folder I want to rename, but it is write-protected in its options (I dont even know why, i never selected that). I already unchecked the option and did that for this folder and tried selecting "do it for all subfolders...". But when i click on accept and OK, I still cant rename and see the option "write-protection" checked again (sorry if i call it wrong, only have the German version of Windows XP). What can I do? i tried everything I know. I cant delete the folder, cant rename and nothing else Any tip?
Copy all the stuff inside the folder to a new folder called what ever you want it to be called. only realy a solution if it doesnt happen to other folders like.
already tried copying them over to a new folder... its not related to the content. the new folder wasnt write-protected, but the old one could still not be renamed.
Why don't you just make a new folder, name it what you want, and move all the files into it? And just simply delete the old one?
cant rename or delete it it still tells me that im not authorized to do so even though i AM logged in as Admin EDIT: Wasnt there a way to delete files or folders in DOS mode? entering DOS when computer starts up using a start disk? then go to the folder and type del FOLDERNAME ?
If a folder is being stubborn them download a program called killbox and simply find the folder and go to delete on reboot. and its gone hope it helps. just google killbox.
