well i would say defragment first, virus scan second if it doesnt help, then antispy scan, delete any that you find... if that doesnt help post here and i will suggest something else
^ what he said start, right click my computer, properties.. if my computer isnt in start, check your desktop look under Computer and tell us how much ram you have

First to Last: *open application with large CPU usage and clock load time (applications like Photoshop or Microsoft Word) 1. reboot computer once to see if it is an unistalled windows update 2. go to start > run > "cmd" > "start chkdsk.exe -h" (that is the parameter, and it will require a reboot) 3. press F8 repeatedly on start 4. a dialog will pop up and select "Safe Mode with Networking" and hit enter (use the arrow keys to move the cursor up and down) 5. go to start > program files > virus scanner (e.g. "McAfee Virus Scan") 6. run virus scanner and then remove any threats identified 7. reboot computer and boot into normal mode 8. go to start > program files > "Accessories" > "System Tools" > "Disc Defragmentor" 9. Select whatever your drive name is (C > Analyze 10. exit the report click on "Defragment" 11. After disc is finished defragmenting, go to start > program files > "Accessories" > "System Tools" > "Disc Clean Up" 12. select your drive and then click ok 13. After the clean up has finished reboot your computer 14.
