Try making light gradients like #858585 to #FFFFFF (light gray to white) and it looks quite nice, tho for a darker template like you have id recommend a black to mid gray gradient also on your vertical lines try adding a white and a black (or dark color) line right next to one another and it looks like the divide was cut in
