Effing longest time I've done something in Photoshop. I didn't really know what to do, this is my first time in this section, but I know someone who just set up a website and he explained what an iFrame was. So I was thinking that rectangle in the middle could be like an iFrame or whatever, he said it was a "Box where it would stretch but with an arrow" so I think I know what he means. Like a page within a page.

    Without further ado,

Enjoy. If you guys like it, I will host the .psd (after I slice it whatever that is, he is teaching me that too  )

Very nice!! I like that content text :)

The navigation could be smaller tho..

And NEVER use Iframes! (if not necessary :))

Can you guys point me in the direction of a tutorial I can use? When it comes to something so complex I may just have to use a tutorial.

I've deleted the far left / right scanline and background
    Sliced the:
    Left bar
    Right bar
    Top bar
    Banner
    "Whats new"
    iFrame section

But if I could get one that stretches it would be great.

Help? I will gladly send you the .psd if you could do it for me...I can also pay ~50 creds.

Erm the main thing is showing me how to do it. A video tutorial, from start to finish, of making a template would give you all my credits and a big fat +Rep for the effort when I get the post count needed.

ok not a big fan of this but it is ur first template. u need alot of practice just like every new designer and even thoughs of us who have been doing it for awhile. ur pattern in the background with the lines is pretty ugly try lowering the opacity on it. also work on a cooler/nicer looking header. and play around with the side bars cause they make a difference in how the template looks. also for u coding to have to stretch the easyest way would be to use tables with ur images and stuff even tho i hear css is better and i think it is to alot of people still use html and it's very easy to learn with. if u need anyhelp feel free to IM me on AIM.

its really skinny and boring. either add some graphics effects or style it differently to liven it up. it'd just be boring to browse that site.

I like minimalism. If I didn't want a simple site I'd have gotten C4Ds and renders and bright colors.

Most people's myspaces or xangas are black and green or black and blue so I made a simple, non-contrasting one for my first website.

    Its a good start.

    My comments:
    - Use REAL Internet fonts for the filler text
    - Black strokes look tacky when visible, especially when they don't suit the rest of the template, lower opacity or try different effects
    - Contrast needs a lot of help, all I see is red all around and then gray for the content, its very boring
    - Don't use scanlines
    - Navigation buttons are too big

Overall, just try to be more creative. Try not to limit yourself to just lines, boxes, etc.
