I luv FF8. Junction system is really good IMHO and FF8 has really good plot (not sure of the word). Level up system is pretty bad in FF8. Its only bad thing in that game IMO ps.I learned IMO & IMHO so I use them in every reply :/
I despised FFX on the storyline but I did like the battle system and everything else but whatever I'll go play a strategy rpg if I wanted that. I liked FF7 I believe the last good Final Fantasy...even these days it's getting a bit hyped. I later realized they are better rpgs than Final Fantasy when I got older.
VIII, although it seems like everyone now days like VII. VIII's storyline was greet, being a SeeD and Squall, he's the man
I like 8 but it's a bit easy. 7 is my favourite....I haven't played on the recent FF because I can't afford a PS2
Final Fantasy 8 is the best in my opinion. The SeeD / Garden idea was really unique and i loved the thought of being payed to go fight someone as a mercenary. The leveling up system was pretty bad though, each time you needed 1000xp to go to next level. I also didnt really like the weapon system because theryre werent that many weapons to choose from. But the GFs and Limit Break pwned. Hehe, Lion Heart.... I also like X-2...bit too girly though haha...
ff 7, because when you put all teh elements of an rpg together, ff 7 was the most well rounded, but... ff x had the most fun fighting/grid system, ff8 had a captivating storyline, and a ballroom dance scene, and 9... had a tail? (i diddnt like it) but lets not forget about 4, i mean its teh best one before teh ps!
