Ok, I have this laptop here..And the problems are : Slow download rates. Overheats really fast. Gets blue error screen every 30 minutes. Slow. Connection Speed : Signal says it's verry good - excellent but it goes slower than usual this past week.. For example, I get this screen : See where it says signal : Excellent? It should be like Signal : Dial-Up And sometimes I get this : How is it taking to long to respond..? When it shows that message I just press refresh and it works, why cant it just load on the first try..? I just don't know what's wrong with it, I barely use any of the the ram, there's barley anything on this computer to take up any of the ram.. The biggest files I have are : Streets and Trips, MB Size : 877.00 MB Intel® PROset, MB Size : 137.00 MB J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 5, MB Size : 118.00 MB I did everything to make it go faster : Virus Scan. ( Found a couple but don't know how to remove it with AVG. ) Spyware Scan. ( All spyware is removed. ) Deleted un-needed files. Removed un-needed programs. Heres a screenshot of the biggest to smallest programs I have : ( Largest programs are on top and Smallest programs are near the bottom [ Some of them are not show on this list ] ) : Reboot computer. Im not sure its programs you need. if you can get into your laptop, you could put a better cooling system or fan in it. Dont know too much about laptops though.
I don't think I could get a new fan or a psu on this laptop because there's no screws to unscrew the psu..So basically, how am I going to put a new fan in it :unsure: ? Edit : Or maybe open the whole computer and do it that way. That's probably how you do it on this computer.
I can offer you my advice, because i've had similiar problems. First off i would recommend getting a better browser than IE 7 or w/e. I recommend Opera. It has software built in to prevent that exact stuff. Never turn your firewall off. Once you get Opera press f12. Some attributes will come up. Everyonce in a while for some reason proxy servers will shut(something like that). And you can connect to it, so you just press f12 and switch off of the proxy. When every your off the proxy and it stops working switch back onto the proxy. I dont know why this works but it worked for me... Just know i could upload stuff to Imageshack, so i had to tack my proxy off. Lol, all i know is everytime i have a problem this is waht i do, and my competer is working.
I would reccomend getting a notebook chill pad. it's a pad that goes under your laptop and plugs into your USB port. it cools it down, so it doesn't over heat and give you the BSOD every 30 minutes! ^_^ EDIT: GGnO.rE- what the :censored: are you talking about! and he's not using ie- he's using FF! :huh:
First of all..do I know you Krew? I used to know a Kr3w off XBL... anyway... Anti-Virus Program Avast! Anti-Spyware Program Ad-aware or Spybot S&D, or both. Anti-PopUp Program Dunno... Other stuff: -SpywareBlaster, stops spyware before reaching you. Get it. Doesnt need to run to be in use. -Fire wall..try ZoneAlarm. -Scandisk or Defragments, or both would help. = For defragments try downloading PerfectDisk 7.0 instead of using windows defaults. -Try downloading TuneUp Utilities 2006 trial and use it. -GR has been doing that this week to me also, so probly not your machine... -Run<Msconfig<start up and remove un-needed programs -Download Ccleaner, good program for cleaning un-needed files. -You can always format your Harddrive if you dont mind... Just google some files I told you to get for them. Hopefully I helped there in some way

Also Windowblinds clogs up system resources like never tomorrow.
do not use symantec products. instead use avast best virus scanner out at the moment and its FREE! About the wireless b thing, if his rout doesnt support g theres no point and also chances are his net connection isnt greater that 11mbs so he should be fine there.
' A nice fresh install of windows might be a good idea. Its always good to do once in a while anyways.
