If you like first person shooters i would highly recommend this game! Its very fun and interesting to play plus the graphics are just awesome. The story of the game is kind of weak but nonetheless the game is still amazing. Anyone else have it or played it?
generic fps, its a nice time sink but ur not missing anything by not playin it. besides the fire its a pretty outdated fps if u ask me. first map is not very 'sandboxy' because theres so many mountains you have to just take the roads. plus story is weak so unless you like shooting africans and setting small patches of grass on fire...
Man I had been playing COD4 with high sensitivity before I turned on multiplayer for this, and I was so bummed. It is so slow and clunky. But it is realistic, multiplayer is fun because you can pull foot long wires out of your knees and bullet out of your wrist. Your gun can jam when you are in a kill streak and you can drive vehicles. My only problem is the shooting, which realistic as it is, is unsatisfying next to COD4. I haven't played much of the story yet, but I have found it fun aside from the fact that you have to drive 15 minutes to get an objective and 15 minutes more to get to the place in which the objective must take place. It is like Grand Theft Auto, driving takes up most of the game time. I am still iffy on the game, I wouldn't tell anyone not to buy it, but I wouldn't tell anyone they MUST HAVE it.
graphics are very good, but i found that the game play is abit repetative and i have only got to about 16% of act one completed. hopping for better as i get more into the game.
So what is it, good or bad? People are being so vague, somebody here should review it as I am on the fence about this game.
Okay, here is the honest view from me. The games story is fantastic. A gun-for-hire in Africa where diamonds are the source of income. Authenticity guaranteed. The graphics are stunning. It almost seems as if they somehow took many photos of a real place, stitched them together and gave it a digital feel. The enemies are insanely superhuman even on easy. You can be shot when there isn't even an enemy around and when there is, it takes 20 shots from your rifle to down him. That being said, it takes 3-4 shots with a pistol but when there's 10 enemies, who uses a pistol? They can also shoot incredibly well. I was in a mission and hid as much behind a rock as I could. There was about 5 guys or some such most on the other side of the rock. I was shooting one guy who was in front down the hill a little bit and he was owning me but somehow got shot by the other guys too...ridiculous. Also, everyone wants to kill you. You drive past a guy in a car and he will turn around get out to shoot you. Not only that but you are a mecenary, who would step to a mecenary? Although most other people are too...but they wouldn't know you are a merc so who would randomly shoot at a guy purely for driving? And if that wasn't bad enough, headshots count for squat. You can shoot a guy plain in the face from 2 feet away and he will still get back up. The fact that pistols are stronger than rifles is also a bit gay. I can whip out my Star .45 and easily kill a guy but with my HK G3, I have to unload a whole magazine before he will die. Your gun will also jam frequently unless you buy it. They went for realism but over exaggerated by a mile. Guns don't jam that frequently. Your gun will also get rusty (No salt air, how?) and explode on you after a while. You also have bouts of malaria every 30-40 minutes real life time which can get annoying. Especially since no-one else that you fight suffers from it or gun jams so you are at a big disadvantage. So good points: Great visuals Awesome storyline Authentic The digging out the bullets animation is cool Bad points: Insanely hard enemies Useless guns Everyone wanting to kill you (well, almost) Jamming weapons Rusting weapons Exploding weapons Malaria
I've been playing it on the PC for the past couple of days, and it's very good. It takes realism, I think, to a newer level. With the animations, environments, lighting/shadows. I play with almost all the settings on the highest level they can go. The game is kind of generic when it comes to missions and stuff, but the feeling of being in a vast African landscape is breathtaking. I can't get enough of it. I am just a bit annoyed by security checkpoints, they just get in the way a lot. And the amount of land the game has is a bit too much. But still hella fun.
