With the heat, that's the PSU. The transformer in it creats a lot of heat, not the actual processor, which never gets hotter than 45 Degrees celsius. Unless it's hot, then, just stick your compy in the freezer.
oh, well... my CPU gets up to 50 celsius... why do they say that water cooling keeps your CPU cooler then? the pieces do not seem to fit very well here...
for your budget you wouldn't be able tog et a good water cooling system, 150 is like the absolute min... you have to pay for coper piping, a radiator(cheaper and better fi you buy a modified car one beleive it or not) evaporation trays, soldering iron/equipment, my friend is spending almost 300 on his cooling just for reference.
Meh, don't ask me. The most efficient thing is to just stick a hole in the side of your case and stick pipe in so that it goes over (but not completely) your processor, this brings in cool outside air, not the air circulating in your case.
I do have a wind tunnel going through the side of my case, going straight to the CPU. and with the newer PSU's with 2 fans, they are cooler than the older ones...
because it does but you will still need a heatsink and fan so sticking a watercooling kit in wont solve that issue of sound. YOu have a prescott right?
ok, sorry for the double post, but i have a pressing question. I decided not to go with liquid cooling. It's way too expensive... So now I ask you, which of these fans should i get? I would perfer to buy it here: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/ca...Sort=0&Recs=10# I have an AMD Athlon XP 3000+ w/ Barton Core I want the sound to be around or lower than 20dBa I again will go around $100 for a good heatsink and fan.
a prescott is a intel, like venice is to amd. get this for hs/f - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16835118223
I have not used it before. but it is mentioned a fair bit over at amd forums and whirlpool forums. Also the reviews on newegg sound very promising, IT MADE AN INTEL RUN COOL!!! lol. http://forums.amd.com/index.php?act=Search...zalman+cnps9500
it was just a search saying how much people talk about it. look for reviews on google though. on second thoughts and a search through some forums get a Thermal Take Big Typhoon as they are "silent."
yeah, I was looking at the typhoon. It seems only thumbs up from what i can see. They say you will have to take your motherboard out to mount the thing, but all big boys do, so im not worried. Thanks for the help, DeFuZioN.
ive seen these at my local Net cafe but do they actually work? eg make your comp faster from better cooling?
