Okayh... I have just boughten a great game - Fear. uh heres a screenie of what i'm getting when i play Yeah pretty bad when the specs of my graph or vid card is: chip type: GeForce Fx 5200 approx. Total Memory: 128.0 M Name: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 (Dell) i got like 512mb of ram i don't know whats wrong - also the hand and the gun won't show up on the screen - i can't get ahold of seierra uhh i tried turning the graphics up and it lags beyond anything. so without lagging.. thoes are the best grahpics i can play ^ Merged Post: please help anyone?
first of all the game said the bare requirements to play, meaning if you want to play with those thats exactly what it says, the bare minimum. The recommended specs are 256MB video and 1 gig of memory, therefore I recommend buying something other than the on-board graphics card you have (around $100) and another stick of 512MB (around another $75) Then it should run fine.
let me think. Merged Post: Problem: System Requirements & Supported Chipsets Solution: In order to install and play F.E.A.R., your system must meet or exceed the following minimum system requirements: Minimum: •Windows® XP, x64 or 2000 with latest service pack installed •DirectX® 9.0c August Edition (Included) or higher •Pentium® 4 1.7 GHz or equivalent processor •512MB RAM or more •64MB GeForce 4 Ti or Radeon® 9000 video card •Monitor that can display in 4:3 aspect ratio •5.0 GB free hard drive space for installation •Additional hard drive space for a swap files and saved game files •4x CD-ROM drive (DVD-ROM drive for Director’s Edition) •16-bit DirectX® 9.0 compliant sound card with support for EAX 2.0 •Broadband or LAN connection for multiplayer games •Mouse •Keyboard Recommended Specifications: •Pentium® 4 3.0 GHz or equivalent processor •1 GB RAM •256 MB Radeon® 9800 Pro, GeForce 6600 or equivalent DirectX® 9 compliant video card with hardware T&L and pixel shader 2.0 support •Sound Blaster® X-Fi series sound card Supported Video Card Chipsets with the latest Driver Version Info: ATI Catalyst Drivers (Windows® 2000/XP): v5.8 Radeon® 9000 Series Radeon® 9500 Series Radeon® 9600 Series Radeon® 9700 Series Radeon® 9800 Series Radeon® X600 Series Radeon® X700 Series Radeon® X800 Series Radeon® X850 Series NVIDIA ForceWare Drivers (Windows® 2000/XP): v77.77 GeForce 4 Ti Series GeForce FX 5900 Series GeForce 6600 Series GeForce 6800 Series GeForce 7800 Series Merged Post: And i have all of thoes keep in mind i can play on that level of graphics but it lags if i go any higher.
my gfx card is fine for this -.- i can play on the highest graphics mode but then itll lag so bad it's not even cool - you press the mouse to shoot and 5 seconds later it will shoot. but it's stunning graphics.
Its not the drivers that is your problem. The game recommends you use a 256MB card with 1G of RAM. You are currently running the bare minimum on the specifications. Meaning, although the game will run, it wont be pretty. A new graphics card at 256MB (instead of your current on-board 128MB) and an additional 512 Ram will meet the Video and CPU RAM recommended requirement. As for processor speed I am unaware of the processor you are running on. The CPU and Video RAM are definately a start as to getting your computer to run F.E.A.R. right. My computer used to run fear on the highest quality without a problem, mainly due to having a 512MB Video card and 2G of RAM, but for the card alone im sure its out of your price range. A 3.0 Ghz processor is between $180 and $350. I can also only find one made by Intel (not the best graphics processor). A 256MB videocard is about... $115-$715 from ATI. A 512 stick of ram (varying on your current speed processing, etc.) is around $39-$75. Either one of those modifications could help. They should be worried about in this order: 1) Videocard 2) Memory 3) Processor If you choose to do it all you should be able to run it on the medium/high quality slot. If I still had F.E.A.R. (i gave it to my friend for a while) I would show you some of the stunning graphics at the highest quality playthrough.
another shot of me playing. and i'm 13, not old enough for a job, so no money. I can't afford that =(
you could... sell things? lol I unno, besides that I dont think there is a way to make your computer any better for F.E.A.R. Maybe you could work a deal with your parents to do like extra chores or something for a few months in exchange for $200-$350? Always worked with my mom lol
uh if you have time could you serach for some *cheap* ones that will work they don't have to be top of the line ^.^ .. and post the links here
www.newegg.com the minimum prices i listed are the best for their money. When I get up tomorrow morning I may check a few of them and post em for you.
Its an AGP board, youd probably want a PCI-Ex16 card for gaming. Also, personally speaking, i like having a fan and heatsink for my cooling options whereas that one only has heatsink. I really need to look at your motherboard to tell you exactly what you can and cannot use. Edit- Also, after reading some reviews on the card, it is just that... a $60 card. If you manage to install the drivers correctly then its "decent". Not to mention that even with its capability it manages to crash on a few games. I personally ran an ATI Radeon 9250 (i bought it a while ago) that hasnt had any problem running my current games. OFC my new video card smokes it, but thats besides the point. The ATI is probably around $100 now.
What you are basicly saying is that you lowered the settings because you cant play well on highest level, but you don't like what you are seeing with minimal settings... Only solution is a beter gfx card. You can be glad it still looks like that, if you were to lower the UT2004 setting to a minimum, all you see will be a red/brown/blue blur that moves
