Ok peeps, you all know that I recently stpped down from the staff, to become a member again. And well, some of you may want to know the reason behind this, so I am making this thread to explain. There were numerous reasons behind leaving GR, but my main reason was what GR has turned in to. The way people have made a business out of credits ... it has gone beyond the currency they are meant to be ... to reward people. I don't know why some staff members cannot see through this as a bad thing, as some staff are leading this, which is disappointing. I used to feel safe and happy on GR, but now I just feel like any other person, mods could suspend me at any time, and people are playing a big part in fraud (that applies to members and staff). GR has a somewhat of business, but not a productive, learning business/experience, but more like a business GR should never let past. I know why it isn't forbidden, and that's partly why I am so upset about it. I don't understand why GR can not just become a forum again, where people actually help other people, help newbs .... without the price tag. There seems to be leading members here as well. Members who are popular and get treated first class, some of those members spam, flame and are disrespectful, but are friends of staff .. and so nothing will happen, no punishment. The popularity of people here is dominating the members experience at GR. If you are not popular, don't think of winning any battles .. or winning a discussion with a popular member. And the popularity issue has become out of control because the popular members don't even deserve to be popular. Renderers who make good renders deserve popularity, but not low life flamers who get away with everything. As I've been a mod here at GR myself, I know the system, and I know the staff. I know they ''ban first and ask questions later'' .. that's a fact, they make jokes out of it, and that is called abusing your privileges as a mod. Some mods think that because they are a mod they can do anything, ban anyone for any reason or give their friends special privileges. Bullsh*t. Staff should treat members with equal respect - I always did, Bratzer always did, and I for one cannot put up with being represented by a team of such. There is such thing as democracy. The members were staring to irritate me as well, there hopeless and stupid, greedy ways of making credits and the putting down of newbs. These members should be banned more so than spammers. But that doesn't happen because staff members are friends with these and so, oh no, that can't happen. And mods get picked on their reputation points and popularity, something I do not condone in any way. Mods pick who they wan't to be mod, and so mods who are a shame to the team can pick a friend just as bad as hem, and so the team grows. I think we need G70 back, probably the best moderator GR has ever had, an experienced, wise, democratic mod who wont take bullsh*t but treats members with respect. What’s happened? The down in GR recently is partly because of staff IMO (not all staff). We/you as a forum need to sort something out. Ban the selling of credits, treat members equally, banish the popularity matters and start helping people without have to receive $ in return. That is what addicted me to GR, the generosity of the community and the helpfulness, but that has far gone, and we need to get it out. If you are too ignorant to see this, then voice your opinion, or get a job to make money instead. Staff might close/delete this but I am only simply voicing my opinion. Regards, Flamesy/Trance
i remember the first time i came to gr people hardly asked for credits and stuff most things where free but now nearly everything you do cost credits. ------- I completly agree what u said Flamesy
Hey Flamesy/Trance, nice of you to stand up for us *common* members ... But I think you shoud'nt have left the staff ... U know .. the net is a reflection of the real world, and all practices in the real world find their way down here too ... good or bad. People dont give up just because there are a few rotten tomatoes (or potatoes or whetever ) amongst them .. If you're pssionate about the ideals you stand by, you fight for them .. and you'll find good people will always stand with you, for you during those times. I'm not suggesting a war in these forums ( definitely no no).. but you could , as a staff member have had the option of partially setting some of the *incorrect* things right. Indeed I was taken back by the cred (and rep) system in this forum when I had first joined If people forget the basic premise on which these forums are built - sharing - then it's too bad .. but as long as there are some generous people who want to share and teach us newbies, and help the community grow, these forums will last ... Anyways .. nice meeting you .. and welcome back to the "member"hood !!
if there r ways 2 make profit off somethin ppl will find out how and do it! we like power and money..wat do u expect?
Well I didnt want to read all that but I did anyways and I see now and when I first joined nobody did much for credits it was all free practicaly
After talking with Bratzer, I agree with you both wholeheartedly. But I'm not about to step down and just let it go by unchecked. Both of you need to get back on staff so we can sort this out.
This was worth the reading, and you are completely right, When i started here, creds allready were getting more important, And it hitted its highest level when the first account was sold for real money, I still do not understand why someone would buy creds, just to have the most creds and dont do sh*t with them.... Or all the auctions, where sometimes prises rised up to 1000 creds, its just sick.... But its all part of the selfish part of the human nature...some people just want to keep things for themselves, unless they get payed for it. Thats part of the reason why im getting less and less happy about the state of this forum
Ive read this alot, and agree to some aspects of it. I hope some of the staff will take that to heart, and will make a few modifications.
I think real money for credits is a bit out of hand, people sell anything to get creds now this should be just graphics work.
I believe its okay if people want to sell credits, they earned those credits, if they want to sell them they should have every right to sell them. And about saying "ohh.. its to much 1000 credits for an auction" Well if people put alot of effort and time into a peice of work, and they want to sell it for a high price the so be it. That is there choise, not any of yours. I personally feel that GR is fine, I have been lent credits I have lent people credits. I do whatever I can to make new members feel welcome. I sold someome a premium membership for 600 credits.. and my price is 750. I'm being very generous. And your saying all rich members arent generous, but there greedy. I have every right to be greedy I earned every penny. But I choose not to be greedy, and most rich members arent greedy. I feel nothing should be changed. I think let people do what they want to do, they earned there credits. They should be able to do whatever they want with them. I sell premium memberships cheaper then anyone here. If I wanted to be greedy I could be greedy and jack the price up to 2000 credits. Like in the shop. I sell them 1250 credits cheaper then the shop. I'm a fairly wealthy but I'm not greedy. I dont believe all people with a large amount of credits are greedy at all. Yes ofcourse there are a few people that are greedy, and yes you will always find people that are greedy, unfourntly thats life. Thats no reason to leave your position thats is just letting them win the battle. But the majority of the people here, or atleast the people I talk to and stuff are not greedy, and do help out new members. ~richie
i dont really understand, if you are so ubset about how gamerenders has become, you should have stayed a moderator so that you can change it to be how it used to be. demoting yourself to a member isnt going to make things run better on this site
