I didn't read the whole thread so I can't really say, but in fact. it's in GR's heart and mind that it IS really independent considering spam except both banner advertisement ... I mean, since it's beginning this has never been done and never been even THOUGHT. You should more worry about your members than your own site, because members is what makes your site. Just letting you know, try asking people on IRC before doing something you ain't sure because I too am thinking GR is REALLY going down hill since the last 3 months.

You do know that if someone contacted DPA, you could have the site shut down, and you fined? If that EVER happens again, I'll be someone.

    Actually no.
Since he didnt give any ones e-mail out since it was sent by GR it is NOT in breach of the DPA.

Also, all this crap about these advertisements killing GR in the past few months, thats bull...
The way GR is going down hill is nothing to do with Shaggy, its the members who are killing this site.

    Completely agreed.

When I saw that e-mail, I said to myself "Hmm... where's my burger?" Know why? Because I don't give a damn about what shout's doing over there. They're pumping all this money into advertising a clone of GR that's crappier. Shaggy didn't know the history between Shout and GR completely most likely, so we can't really hold him responsable for that side of it. Was sending an e-mail like that wrong? Perhaps, but you've gotta do what you gotta do to keep this site afloat and I can see that aspect of it all. He's said he won't do something like that ever again, so that should be the end of it. There really wasn't any reason to keep this thread going, in my eyes it should be closed since it's pretty much resolved.

To those newer members or members that haven't been around consistently, you don't know everything that's happened between GR and Shout before that e-mail and even Shaggy came around.
