ok i know its not a movie game or music but hey... books need reviews to This is only my second review since The Hills Have Eyes so bare with me ok a little back ground on these author and the books (note i want use any outside info here >.< just what i read) Author : Cristopher Paolini from what i know of this guy Eragon and Eldest are his first two books. Now dont underestimate this guy, he is a REALLY good writer.. in fact one of the best story lines ive ever read involve these two books. Lets see, he graduted highschool at the age of 15 and started writing at the age of 19. Basically From what He has writin so far he specializes in youth fiction similar to lord of the rings and such. Over all this guy can write and he has a very vivid imagination. ok lets start off with the first book in the trilogy.. ----====Eragon====---- Let me say that... this book is amazing... it really gets you involved with the story line... and what a story line it is... everything is so detailed i mean... DETAILED... you will understand why later on in the book but... I have to admitt... im not a big reader at all... I only tend to read maybe 1 or 2 a year >.>;; anywayz back on topic the characters in this book are awesome... especially eragon ;p there are alot of mythical races in this book... i.e dragons, elves, drawves, zar'rac... and the un so mythical... us... humans.. now this all takes place on this nice chunk of land maybe twice or alittle bigger than the state of texes called allegasia ruled by a currupt king named Gilbatorix (badass name i know) the main setting revolves around eragon of course and a race called razac who whinds up killing some1 and pissing eragon off >.< well he gets all flustered and accompinies a fella named brom anyway... with out revealing anymore in this book than i already have ill move on.. Its really hard to discribe this book without actually giving away the amazing story line in this book... Trust that this bish is a nice bed time story with about 497 readable pages I highly recommend this book to fantasy/magic readers... Story line: 9.5/10 Dialogue:9/10 writing:10/10 detail:10/10 (AMAZING DETAIL!!!) Overall rating: 9.3/10 ok on to the second book in the series.. ----====Eldest====---- *ahem* another kick ass book from CP the second installment in the triology... released in 2005 (not really old at all) this book really goes into detail... way more than the first... with eragon.. but not only him... but two other characters i wont reveal.. It picks up right were the first left off (which i really like >.<) and i must say i liked this one better than the first.. simply because it had a ton more surprises that you DO NOT expect at all.. (trust me i was like WTF?!?!) anyway.. i dont even know why im writing a review on this one.. .cause if you read the first you cant help but pick this one up... this book is slightly larger than the first weighing in at 680 readable pages.. a very nice bed time story indeed.. overall this book is extremely interesting and very well writin as far as dialogue and story line go.. the characters you just pretty much sympathize and just fall in love with.. although the two books leave a ton of unanswered question that the third book (most likly going to be called empire) has yet to fill in... Storyline rating: 9/10 Dialogue:9/10 Detail: 10/10 Writing:9/10 overall: 9/10 Let me conclude this review by saying... this is the best trilogy of books that i have and probably ever will read... this guy is amazing with his words and the books arnt hard to read at all... now i read these two books in under a week which is 1100 pages roughly... and i must say that these books are very popular and it took me forever to get my fingers on them... (i had to buy the second one >.< due to 30 people in line ahead of me in a branch of librarys..) anywayz and this for me in these two books is a first... since i dont read alot i dont know if the other writers give detailed explinations of the races languages but CP does... i mean i was amazed when i finished the book it self then noticed the language chart... it broke them all down into pronounciation... how you would use them in a sentence... and well of course numerous words in the dwarves and elves language.. not only did he do this in the first but in the second as well... i was impressed... but anyway ... if your a fan of books like LOTR... i highly recomend these two books... they are good books but he totally ripped a bunch of ideas from other books. If you read the first book of 'The Wheel Of Time' series by Robert Jordan... then you read the first book of the Eragon trilogy.... they are almost exactly the same. The guy isn't very creative, but it is a nice read. Definately does not compare to LOTR or TWOT (The Wheel Of Time [Awesome books]) though..
