    English is spoken inside and outside the classroom differently, as are many languages. One of my good friends has been taking French in school for 8-10 years (not sure exactly), and can't speak with a person from France or Quebec without hearing slang that she doesn't understand.

    Nearly all languages use it, you just go without noticing. English is very hard to learn grammatically so slang makes it even harder.

    If you want to see some harder English, go to Jamaica. That's a perfect example of how slang developed on an isolated island before technology, it just happens.

    Instead of saying something like
    they say

    Jesus Christ, ryo. It seems all your posts lately is trying to proof that other countries are better than America. You're targeting at the small weaknesses of America to redeem your own country's pride. Keep a lit on, troll.

    teachers expect you to know alot of it from speech, this is why they don't waste alot of time going over commas and crap...you already do alot of grammatical things while you speak, before you learn how to read and write. When speaking, a pause is interpreted as either ..., a period or a comma. There are some things that don't need to be in depth. What is the point of this post? why complain about how people teach their own language? Sorry that our curriculum isn't based on foreign students :wacko:

    yellow= error
    orange=why

    This is the stupidest ---- i've ever heared in my whole life, who the ---- would go to Taiwan to learn english, that is like the last place on earth someone would go to to learn english at.

    People go to Taiwan to learn Mandarin Chinese not ----ing english, and dont come here trying to actually convince people that the best place to learn English is in Taiwan while i could spend days and nights counting the grammatical mistakes in all of your posts.

    Out of all the people who are registered here, you're the last one i expected to make a thread about english grammar, and it doesn't stop there! you actually called it the Official Thread.

    :huh: please drop the subject, your grammar is horrible...and i'm sure your not going to convince anyone on GR (or any other site) that Taiwan is the best place to learn english.

    this post should read (or something close to this):

    There are many middle-age Americans teaching English in Taiwan...and there are many centers in Taiwan that help you learn English.
