Lol, I think you need to read up on your astronomy...the Sun will not ingulf the Milky Way...the Milky way is a GALAXY, we are only a solar system. the Sun is one of millions in the Milky way. Our sun is not big enough to become a Super Nova. Oh and it would take Billions of years, not millions to even engulf the earth. Also, I just read that there is a star only 150 Light Years away that is suspected to create a supernova soon (well, relativly soon). Since it is only 150 Lightyears away, it has a chance of burning up our ozone layer and therefore destroying life. eh.

Scientifically, the world be be consumed in within the next million/billion years I think? When it does, the sun will expand into a red giant, consuming Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, and the asteroid belt. The stronger gravitational pull would then drag the remaining planets into the Sun, and any that aren't, will be thrown out of orbit by the "slingshot" of gravitational pull between the sun, and the other planets. Religiously though, I believe the apocalypse will destroy the earth.
