Obviously we are advancing in technology and knowledge at a huge rate, who knows what we will be capable of in the future. I don't think it's unrealistic that we will move to a different planet. It may take us millions of years to get there with current technology, but we are talking about the future here. Also if we where to remain on the earth after millions of years, the Sun will eventually start to run out of gas and the sun will expand engulfing us. Another thing is that scientists have recently found that at the centre of every galaxy there is a black hole, but obviously ares is not active. There are theories that it will start to feed again, sucking us in. Scientists also know that galaxies are moving closer together and our galaxy is on course to collide with another. These obviously will not effect us for a very long time though. I highly doubt we will destroy our selves due to war, that is ridiculous. Just think about it.

Yes, it will. Once the sun begins burning helium, it will expand to beyond the orbit of mars, consuming the Earth. But if we have not killed ourselves will nuclear weapons, I am sure that within a billion years time we will be inhabiting places other than the Earth. People wonder how nuclear weapons can destory the Earth. The bomb on Japan was small. There are thousands of bombs that if dropped between Chicago and New York City, it would destory both. So if they were detonated, life would be gone.
The ----roaches will suddenly learn to talk due to a radiation in a polluted water, and start a nuclear war manipulating other countries to fight and we will be fried. But seriously...I think the earth will be sucked into the Red Giants very intensed heated atmosphere, but before that is...sciencist will gather information about us leaving to another planet or galaxy, having almost the same form as Earth. Also to see if there's any life forms on the planet. Cause we wouldn't to be suddenly marching the Planet with a bunch of aliens on it...they could start a war with us when we have no weapons or become slaves for them...or worst...become the main breeding of their race! :lol: :lol:

did u read what i wrote? even if that did happen it wouldnt kill everyone and everything. you would know that if you watched the movie [/b][/quote] Never got to finish seeing "Day after tommorrow" when we watched it in school, but maybe there will be an eclispe and then once all of the light of the sun is gone during winter, the world will combust because the days in winter are longer and that will cause a longer eclipse and the ultra-violet rays will have a large affect on the cozmos inturupting it's balance and with the moon covering the sun the tide will go haywire drowning the entire world >.>
I don't know what my opinion is on this. I'm sure some cataclysmic event awaits us in the universe somewhere, but I think that we'll destroy ourselves before fate deals us that hand. If the sun burned out in the sky, we'd either drift out of orbit, and be cast into an eternal winter, or the sun would 'supernova' and completely render (no pun intended) the milky way into a finite dust. KABOOM!!!!
its a "massive" black hole. And its active, it is what causing the galaxy to spin. and supposably each galazy has one.
