WHat does that matter? It doesn't, but I was just doing what you are. "It isn't a black holiday."

    "It is a black holiday."

Same amount of facts, both are biased sentences.

Racism is a waste of time. This email is only meant to rile you up and divide us even more. Understand you are being manipulated. Coming soon to your inbox, an email proclaiming that all Mexicans are lazy, just want benefits from the U.S., and criminals. I'm sure you'll agree with that one too.

In the words of my favorite actor, Viggo Mortensen:

“We are living in a strange time. Prejudice and lack of tolerance are the source of all quarrels. History repeats itself.” ~ VM

Explain to me how this is a black holiday? Even though the day is meant to celebrate equality for all races. Are you really that ignorant. The day is recognised as a holiday for all people to celebrate not just black people.

Lol, dude. The man was black. Whether or not he fought for equality, the people who weren't being treated equal were black. Okay, so, he was fighting for BLACK people to be treated equal. MLK day is to remember him, and to celebrate equality. Now, who did he make equal? Black people. Which is fine, whatever, I don't mind.

Also, I don't care what it's "recognized" as. That isn't what I'm saying. I'm saying, mainly black people celebrate it, because I have nothing to celebrate. Nothing was done for me, or my race. It's for black people, congratulations, but I'm just saying.

What does his color have anything to do with it? blockedistopher columbus was white but that's a holiday for all races.

Aren't you complaining that white people don't get treated equal? MLK was fighting for all people to be equal and that affects white people aswell. More than black people benifited from him.

So what if mainly black people celebrate it, still doesn't make it a black holiday. White people probably think the same way you do and that they can't celebrate it because it's a black person. Nothing done for your race? I don't see how campainging to create equality for EVERYBODY doesn't affect white people. He also campaigned alot to help the poor, that includes white people (http://www.progress.org/banneker/kingsay.html)
Again how is this not doing anything for your race? Maybe you should research what MLK actually did before trying to say he did nothing for white people.

    Merged Post:

Who said that? Oh the email with a contradictive statement at the end of it.
Anyway i'll just quote what somebody else said earlier.

If anything he hurt the white race, we were top dog. I'm glad he did, but honestly he didn't "help" us in that sence. He helped black people, which is fine, but it is a black holiday.

Well, it may be recognized as a federal holiday, but then again, Russia is regognized as a free state, when they are infact ruled by communist. So, I could careless what a governent says about a holiday, mainly black people celebrate it, making it a black holiday. And I'm not ignorant, that is a true statement.
