Was reading about and found a blog that are claiming they can reverse-engineer dx10 so that it works on Windows xp sp2 computer, The person calling himself cody has not released any screenshots/apps or anything to prove this, hes only claiming. But if this is correct then it will open a whole new gateway for XP users as 1. they wont have to upgrade to vista just to play 1-2 games they wanted to try 2. Games will run faster as vista needs way more resources then XP 3. No heafty cost in upgrading Source http://theangrypixel.com/blog/2007/04/21/d...-non-vista-pcs/
I really hope it does, As much as i like vista i dont think my pc is anywhere near running some of these games in vista but i might have a chance in XP
i'm not too optimistic yet, as is DX10 doesn't even work on vista properly, WTF makes them think it will work on XP?
Well im sure if they managed to get windows xp games working on a totally different operating system like linux im sure they can go back 1 OS onto XP.
here, THIS might be a better read... http://alkyproject.blogspot.com/2007/04/fi...his-blog-i.html FYI i heard about this on Friday, basically in theory it's good but it can't be pulled off, atleast not for a while.
if it could be done you would have to find drivers that would let the card run in dx 10 mode with xp.
I've heard about this to in XS. I will probably reformat within a few weeks. Setting up my 160Gig maxtors in raid0 and use XP, as the performance in benches and games is bad in Vista and I find the GUI boring now
