Just because you work for an electronics store; you think you know better? - Because no, you DO NOT.

At the moment, the DS... based on what 'handheld - gaming' is trully about, Is the most unique and original handheld games machine to-date.

It embodies 'new' technology in it's hardware, to broaden the level of playability; which as a result. Is able to open up the minds of game developers, to create "originality".

if you're sitting there right now, reading to what i've said. Thinking to yourself that you've heard the same thing, over, and over again. Then go ahead - That "originality" is something you do not care about. Then in my opinion, you're a total and utter fool in my eyes.

When you look at the PSP, and take on board its specifications. You can tell that down the line, games that will be produced for it; would be on a par to that of the Playstation 2; which in the end would lead to 'boredom', and if you're a sucker for Sony, and you tend to cater for the advance in graphics; the quality and power. Then you seriously need to wake up and smell the fresh air.

And if you do not know already, the Nintendo DS is lead to believe; a 'test-run' of new technology that Nintendo are experimenting with; but basically to see how well the consumer (us) reacts to it. Because in about a years time. The 'GameBoy Advance 2' will be released - With processing power equivalent to that of the Nintendo GameCube. And we all know what system out of the Cube and the Playstation 2 is more powerful right? (the GameCube) - So what then?

Even if Sony does do well with its PSP, who the fu,ck cares. When Nintendo releases its next successor to the actual GameBoy series. Nintendo will still hold that dominant hold on the handheld market. ~shrugs~

And can I point out something, how exactly are the controls on the PSP easier to that of the DS? - Did you know that when it comes down to First Person Shooters, RPG and Strategy. Nintendo DS is probably the most favoured because of the excellent controls that can be produced from using the stylus + touch screen?!- No? didn't think so...

I gotta say, some of the reasons people are backing their opinions up with are ridiculous. Do you people know anything about gaming?! =/

Firstly, the DS will not success as well as the Gameboy series. This is obvious because before the Gameboy had no real competitors in the handheld industry. That's over now though, because Sony has stepped in to attempt to steal the crown. Sony's brand name alone will get gaming newbies jumping for it's handheld over the DS.

Also you can play your games on the Touchscreen too, but the developers choose not to add that since they have better ideas for the touchscreen than just playing your game on it.

The PSP is graphically better, true. But graphics alone isn't going to make a game good. Look at Final Fantasy 7, that game is a legendary RPG, and there's no denying that, but was it graphically amazing? No, if you don't count the CG cutscenes then that game had worst graphics than anything.

I'm not saying the DS is my choice, but I'd like to point out; if you think the PSP or the DS is better, state some decent reasons why.

There's nothing more sad than a gaming newbie who just says things like "PSP is better because it's gonna have better games" or "DS is better because it's from Nintendo".

End of the day, neither is better in an official sense. State your opinion AS an opinion, don't try and state it as a fact.

Also Ti3sto, most of what you have said is either speculation or rumour. Also why are you getting excited that this so called "gameboy 2" is going to have the power of the Gamecube? By then Sony will probably have the PSP2 which has the processing power of the PS3. Also your writing is not presuasive but more on the offensive side, that's not a bad thing but if you plan on getting your point across when writing something it's the wrong style of writing you're doing.

One thing I do agree with you though, is that people who work in a gaming store or any other crap do not always know what they're talking about. I personally respect the opinion of a member of staff at a game store just as much as I respect the opinion of a FanBoy. You know what that means? I barely respect their opinion.

I myself proffessionally write reviews for various game sites, it's part of my job to analyze and state facts and opinion clearly and honestly. I am never biased when it comes to gaming. If something is truly better, I will say it, but in the gaming industry developers are smart, they don't try and just make a console or handheld that is "better" than their competitors. They try and make something which appeals to a different audience also, this means that you can never screw up because people who don't find one console interesting, might find the other interesting.

ok right now the ds dosen;t have the best games but think of the possibilities.... I mean sure ps and ps2 do hold the record for the most games but they don't have a irrestible characters that nintendo do

ps and ps2 have almost no original characters.. not even tomb raider (because it was released on gameboy)
unlike ps and ps2 nintendo has hundres.. such as a favorites.. samus.. ness... mario..luigi...wario... and they had-have a contract with many tv and movie series, what child dosen't want elmo!!???

also the psp has many glitches from what i have heard.. such as the triangle button has a defect in it.. also after the mass collection of the ps2's because of they're faulty software nintendo has emerged ontop.

graphix i have to give to the psp.. but you don't feel comfortable playing it.. when you take it out everyone stairs.. but when you play the ds people ask to come over and look at it.. (am i not true psp and ds users!!???)
the psp has it's highs and lows.. but i'm goignt ot have to be lpyal to kirby... and nintendo

Every single format has at least one original character, just because a company chooses to use their characters for decades and decades until people get sick of them, it doesn't actually mean that they have more dedicated game characters for their system.

Yo Ti3sto chill dude, everything i said was just my opinion and what i think is best for ME, the controls are easier for me with the PSP b/c I suck at using the touch screen, I said that the DS was a good system for some but not for me. I wasnt trying to push my opinion or views on anybody and I'm sorry if i offended or pissed off anybody. All i was trying to say is The PSP is a better system for me. Also I wasnt trying to sound like im smarter than anybody by saying that i work fo an electronics store, I just said that b/c some ppl who talk about the diffrences between the DS and PSP base their choice on the company they like best, I made mine b/c of what I learned ay work.

Ti3sto has got it spot on, PSP is just the same as a PS2, and hideous expensive. Nintendo are being innovitive and designing new ways to play, the only reason you would get a PSP would be to look cool, because nintendo is for kids. And if you have that little self-esteem, then you should be ashamed of yourself
