the psp is an overpriced piece of crap. it can play DVDs WOW, holy cow... if only the DVDs could work on something other than the PSP.

    but it can play music...
so can my friends ipod, and he can DL music for alot cheaper

    but it can play games...
only untill the batter dies after about 3 hours...

    but it can read discs...
so could the PSX and the PS2, until they got disc read errors...

Better features and game library. DS will have hardly no games like every other Nintendo product. But Oh no the DS has 2 screens, and it has a touch screen, ohhhh ahhhh, amazing. But you can only play games on one of the small screens.

PSP is a better handheld system. Look at the specs and the games line ups for it. Far more better then DS ones. Some DS ones might be better then PSP games..never know. But then again DS is coming with more damn mario sequels and more damn other sequels...WITH FRIGGIN MARIO!! argh...PSP better gfx colours and lots more..just compare their specs.

I can't judge them. I am going to wait and see what happens.

The DS has 2 screens, offering some unique gameplay, but sometimes complicated because you need a stylus.

The PSP has only 1 screen, but the GFX of a PS2. Also, the battery life is expected to suck, BAD.

    I don't know.

Ds. Two words: Dual Screen. The dual screens are just awesome. Text messaging and online playing just keeps ranking it higher on my list.

I've had the PSP for a little over 3 weeks now, and I've played the DS on numerous occasions. Both handhelds are great in their own right. But I prefer the PSP due to how well it fits into my lifestyle, others may not agree and say the DS fits better into theirs. That's fine, because we all have our preferences. There is no "best" one in real terms, but there is a "handheld of your choice" and that will be the PSP for me. :)

There are over 100 companies in developement for the Nintendo DS. And how can you say that the Nintendo DS will be like every other Nintendo product and there will not be many games out for it? There are more GameBoy units in homes around the world, than there are Playstations. The GameBoy became so dominant in the handheld market, because of it's simplicity, how well the hardware was developed, and not to mention the amount of games that were backing it up - And that continued into the next generation of GameBoys (GBA / GBA SP). The Nintendo DS is Nintendos 'newest handheld' and i'm pretty sure that it will do the same amount of success as the GameBoy itself did.

Nintendo do not fail, when it comes to the handheld market.

And by the way, i'm not saying that the DS is the successor to the GameBoy. I'm just saying that with every other Handheld that Nintendo has produced; it's never failed.

The PSP has an Mp3 player! ooohh!! ahh!!! (A handheld games machine is designed to play games, not listen to music!) It's also got a picture viewer. Wtf is the point in that?

Atleast with the functions of the DS. Each piece of technology that was built into it, was created on a sole purpose to enhance the playability of the games; played on it.

The PSP is just a goddam 'portable' Playstation 2.

Lol, Mario - The MOST well known character in the world. Has appeared in countless of Computer games worldwide.

Was the main character for the game that introduced the very first 3 dimensional platformer.

What the fu.ck do you think would happen if Nintendo decided to scrap Mario? Never release a game anymore that consisted solely on the theme of Mario? and possibly the rest of the Nintendo Characters? Huh?!

What would you think if Sony decided to stop creating it's best selling franchises? - You'd think they were idiotic right? Well this is just the same thing. Mario is Nintendo's biggest home franchise. So you'd expect a goddam sequel or an initial game based on the character; for every Nintendo console / piece of hardware that they produce.

The PSP may have the GTA series backing it up. But the first installment in the Metal Gear Solid games for the PSP - Metal Gear Solid Acid, really does look like a stupid concept. A turn based game, where by you use cards to select your next move? LMFAO!

Metroid Prime Hunters - This is supposed to have an excellent adventure mode and not to mention the wireless multiplayer!

Mario Kart DS - Multiplayer of up to 8 + players!!

Super Mario 64 DS - The number 1 Classic upgraded

Legend of Zelda DS - Well what can I say? It's Zelda!

Need For Speed Underground 2 - The Ability to draw your own vinyls, and during Drag; you're able to determine and control the flow of NOS manually. Which has never been done before.

Nintendogs (Puppy Times) - A game where you look after 3 puppies. You use the technology on the DS, to play with the onscreen pups. Use the microphone to shout out commands for the Dog to obey. Pat them by rubbing the touch screen.

There's more that I could describe, but I just can't think at the moment.

Think about the technology that has been built into the DS, and use you imagination, and figure out the possibilities that could arise.

And if your decision to favor a certain handheld, because of how powerful it is at producing realistic and amazing graphics; you're an idiot. :)

I'd rather get PSP since I own all PS1 and PS2...gotta show some love for Sony. Besides, it has nice list of games on launch day unlike DS.

I work for an electronics store and IMO The PSP is a better system, it has better games and better features than the DS. The gfx for the PSP are better and controles are easier without having to worry about the touchscreen. Bad part as most ppl have said is the short battery life but you will be able to buy an extra battery pack for it. The major downside to the PSP isnt even the battery life, it's the price of everything that u have to buy for it i mean extra battery pack, memory stick, cases, the list goes on. The DS isnt really that bad of a system but it more marketed to kids, and some ppl may like it, but i prefer the PSP. What it comes down to is this, if money is an issue when ur making a choice on the one u should get then the DS is gonna be better for you, but if u dont mind spending hundreds of dollers for accessories, then the PSP is better. As for me I have 2 jobs and plenty of money so I'm goin with the PSP.
