After some careful consideration and comparison after both had come out I went with the PSP. I chose it because it had more uses to me in my everyday life other than playing games.
first off i cant believe this topic is still up on the first page cause i started it like 3 months ago or something. And i have the ds and psp and i love my psp way more so if anyone is trying ti figure out which one go with psp definately.
Does anyone remember minidiscs? Sony were saying how minidiscs will be the next big thing and look what happened. When was the last time you went down to the shops and bought your favourite bands latest album on minidisc? Sadly, i feel the UMD will suffer the same fate. People have become too acustomed to DVD to even bother buying movies on UMD. Of course the games will stay on UMD, but i feel the movie side will slowly disintergrate into wasted cash.
the psp is a surpirior system in everyway except for battery life, the lCD screen ruind that, and they didnt even need the LCD screen.
True, but i feel the screen was sony biggest selling point. Handhelds have always been labelled with the "small screen" gaming tag so sony have tried to break that stereotype, but in doing so, they have weaken the battery life as you said.
Not so much a gimmick, but more of nintendo trying to do something different. It may hace came across gimmicky but they were just trying something new.
Thats what they want you to think, the board at Nintendo is very very smart they pulled in a profit of 1 000 000 000 dollars last year, that realy good for a company that only makes games. but i know Nintendo is smart, so i dont trust when they say somthing is inivative.
psp all the way man the ds is dumb with the stick i dont like it at all honestly i think that it would be a waste of money to buy. -AlmightyWhity-
ive also read in alot of different magazines and stuff that the ds isnt even the next gameboy it was just to divert peoples attention from the psp the gba2 isnt coming out for like year or something like that.
