    I used to be able to drag any picture on firefox and drop it into photoshop cs3 and it would open [with the exception of .gifs].
    Now I get a not allowed symbol.

    It use to work fine like 3 weeks ago.

    It doesn't really bother me but I would like to fix it so that I can finish up stuff faster again when I am making banners and stuff for other people.

    Just right click -> copy
    open new canvas (automatically the right size)
    paste pic

    doesn't that work?
    I always do that and it is a nice and fast way.

    If you've got a new canvas window open it won't allow it. I'm not sure what else to suggest. :S.

    Try and grab the image to a tab, to see if itll open there.

    If it does, its photoshop problem.

    Hmm, I found out some more details.

    It seems that it has something to do with Firefox.
    I tried using IE and it worked...

    Have you got Firefox 3? If so then...

    Drag/drop to an image editor doesn't work in Firefox 3, as far as I know.

    The reason is that FF3 uses a new graphics "engine," which offers many new improvements. However, it has to work with Windows, Mac, and Linux, which all use different drag/drop methods.

    You can always right-click an image and choose "Copy", then start a new photo in your editor and "paste." Similarly, you can save and open images.
