I was wondering say if you download music or any file off the internet in general. How long can the government track you back till? I just find it interesting that they can track this information down, of what you do and stuff. If anyone got a site to link this information it would be nice of you also.

The government can track almost anything, I have a brother-in-law who does work for the NSA. He does alot of computer forensics and back door tracking. They have alot of very high end tools top track you, they even teach them to hack, so be very careful about what you do. I know they even have a list of screennames and such that they are always looking for, and if you happen to be one of those, they are always watching you.

This isnt a joke. He lives in Ft. Mead MD, where is the NSA, same place.

Because theres billions of pages on the internet and millions of users online a day. It's impossible to stop everyone.
Anyway the governemt has more important things to worry about than you downloading warez, the NSA focus on important things such as hackers, terrorists etc. But if your sharing music of movies on p2p networks then it's the RIAA and MIAA that you have to worry about.

The Pirate Bay is based in some northern Europe country. The USA can't do anything about it. Torrent sites are legal in the sites country.

My step-mom works there and it's true. I wasn't even allowed into the parking lot because of the security and they tell you everything and teach you everything you would ever want to know...

And yes the government is a dumbass (even though like 60% of my family works for them)

And I agree with TwiZteDJoKeR :D

yup, but limewire states that it is illegal to xfer illegal files via their servers, making all right in the world, because then the people who do share illegally are the ones 100% at fault. The P2P programs arent whats illegal, its the files on them that the people submit, and the people who are illegal.
