First of all, don't read on unless you want spoilers. I'd like to say that I'm freakin' happy that The Rock isn't the main character. Although he finds the BFG (Bif F*cking Gun), he is killed in the end. There is no teleportation experimentation like in Doom 3, but it is a DNA strain found in bones found on Mars -- a 24th one, that either makes you a superhuman or mutates you into a monster. They tried it on a con who had a death sentence.... *POOF*, you have yourself the Hellknight! It wreaks havok, kills people, spreads the stuff, and the dead people come back to life as zombies, and then mutate into imps. People die, there are explosions, the BFG is cool, and the main character becomes a toned down superman and fights Sarge at the end while Sarge slowly becomes his own type of hellknight. One cool thing is this: There is a tech guy they call Pinky. HE has no legs. He runs around in a wheelchair attached to his body. He is killed by the hellknight, and mutated into... THE PINKY DEMON! Dun dun dun. Then the main character kills him with a chainsaw and one shot from his gun all in first-person camera mode. Sweet. Overall, it's a good movie to true fans of Doom, but if you're just seeing it to fit with the crowd, you will not like it. A lot of references true fans will notice -- Dr. Carmack -- and little annoying things -- The Rock. I'll give it an 8.5/10, because I've been playing Doom since I was little and I loved the movie.
Actually the Pinky Demon looked exactly like it did in the game. You didn't see the Hellknight or Imps directly very much, but they looked very similar.
im going to go see it today actually, not a big fan of the rock but hope it turns out to be an ok movie
Ok......personally I like Doom the Games, But i Think the movie.......was.....----, I mean I swear, the movie was ruined when he did some stupid first person view, my friend and i were laughign so hard that we thought It was that pathedic they would put that in the Movie, we also thought It was incrediably Fake movie, especially the part when that huge mutha ----ing PINKY RETARD MONSTER was beating and hitting and wamming the ---- out of the dude and he wasnt being injured at all almost, i mean WTF....But I have to say, there were some funny parts of the movie, like when the guy was taking a crap and he all of a sudden started to get thrown around, and the part when Pinky had a gun and the loud sound behidn him and he said "Oh damn theres something behind me isnt there" and he starts getting tossed around like a rag doll. But I would still rate it a.....3.4/10................really.... Silro
