    Actually, to be nitpicky, www.google.com isnt actually the domain, google.com is.

    the domain name is just basically the link that you have to purchase usually for no more than 8 bucks a year. Then you have to have hosting seperate

    yes , thats called domain forwarding , usually its free , but sometimes you have to pay to get it (if you do it would be VERY cheap , allmost nothing)
