During the day time, when it's relatively hot, I lag SO bad.. and nothing will help, adjusting the antenna, resetting the router, nothing! The only thing that seems to help is when night time rolls around and it starts to cool off. Can anyone confirm this? Or, am I a total idiot? Don't suggest that there's something wrong with my computer or my connection either, because there's not.
the problem isnt the wireless card, There are a few causes of this. More people use the internet during the day, more ppl= less bandwidth. Another is that your computer will run hotter when its hotter outside. So when parts get hotter, generally they perform less efficient. This applies to more or less video cards CPU's and things like that, network cards aren't as badly effected
There's nothing wrong with my connection. I said that in the first post.. I can go down on my other computer with a wired connection and everything is perfectly fine. There is also nothing wrong with my computer.. I have no programs running and I'm not computer illiterate. I just want someone to be able to confirm or deny this with 100% sureness.
It's not just gaming. Yesterday, it was going EXTREMELY slow.. I noticed I was lagging on quite a few things. So, I ran a speed test and was only getting 1.5MB of my 5MB connection. So, I quickly went to my other pc and everything was FINE. This is just really weird. It's only been happening for the past 3 days.. which is when it's been pretty damn hot in here.
double check that your network is private... cause your neighbors could be getting free wireless lol.
typically the become less stable, not less efficient. AKA they crash(unless there is some type of thermal throttling occuring) what type of lag internet lag or FPS lag?
not really. From around 80 feet way through wall with an old and relatively cheap router my ping was as low as 5 and it was consistently low as compared to most other people.
Internet lag. I can show you a trace to a server of a game I play, if you want. Anyways, I left my PC on last night (usually turn it off) with a fan cooling it.. and everything seems fine today.
if none of those work just call your isp and see whats going on, because they could be doing maitnence or something
You guys are not listening to me. I don't mean to be rude, but pay attention. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY ISP, MY INTERNET, OR MY COMPUTER. THIS PROBLEM IS ONLY WITH MY WIRELESS. xelink, I can't, if that was a solution, I wouldn't have made this topic. I just want my initial question answered. Do you have any idea? Does temperature effect a wireless signal? EDIT: Sorry, I'm just getting extremely frustrated. It started happening again.. minutes after my last post. I guess you could say.. I jinxed it.
