Actually, it hasn't , nobody has said any "facts" only common rhumour and guessing.

No, in answer to your question, shoutGFX does not "own" GameRenders, it was recently added as a partner site. shaggy has nothing to do with shout and the owner is michael.

And no, the data protection act is not being violated being as the personal information of people in the site is not being given out, the emails were being send through the site, not through a third party site.

    Hope that cleared things up.

I just wanted to add that ShoutGFX is not a partner site of GameRenders. Any mention of the website in question was paid for - shoutGFX dropped $100+ in advertising, $400 for the mass email that was sent out, $25 for the contest in the competition thread, and then $20 - $25 for the announcement in the Marketplace. All besides the email have been common advertising ventures offered at GameRenders for at least two months.

Partner sites often help each other out in the form of advertising, activity, and members for free - and it goes both ways. What would GameRenders gain advertising such a small site? The answer is easy: nothing.

Closing this thread, an explanation to the email has been posted in general http://www.gamerenders.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=224501, and everything else has been covered. However to claer things up..

Shaggy owns GR, he bought it from Llama, that means its his.

Shoutgfx has payed money for any announcements, etc you have seen on the site. GR has and obviously continues to sell certain types of advertisement.

And I will add an explaintion post here as well.

    1. Shout and GR are NOT in partnership.

    2. I own GR now, llama sold me the whole site. I am not a tempary admin. I am here to stay and the new owner of GR.

    3. I did not sell your emails to shout. As Andrew said, he gave me advert money and the text you found in your email, and I mass emailed everyone with it. He and noone else knows your emails. I would never sell them.

    and

    4. Shout does not own GR. I do.

    Hope this clears things up.
