This already happens - if people do not click the link in their activation email within 10 days then their account gets automatically deleted and their username gets freed up again :) [/b][/quote]
Yes I understand that but i think it'd be a great idea to clean out the database every 3 months or something like that. . .

but sometimes they click on it to activate, then leave it idle.

Good idea, but compare the number of posts AND the time since joined. Dont delete a new member by accident.

I wonder if there's a script you can implement that automatically deletes a user if he doesn't post for a month or something...

What about those of us who are here frequently, but don't necessarily post at every instant. Does that make me inactive? Because I'm here almost every day looking through the different threads and reading them, however, you'll notice that my post rate is that of like one post a week, not that frequent, but then again, I'm actively here daily. So, how are you going to determine inactivity, just the 0 post thing that Llamaman mentioned previously?

I'd say delete all users with below 30 posts who haven't posted in 3 months.

I'm not really liking the idea. Those people came here to get something and what if they wanna come back? Not really proving enough for me... :P

I can see why you would like this done, but I am against it due to the following reasons:

    - It is not essential to get rid of inactive members. In the small chance that someone can't use a username that they like, users will have the option of PMing me to get rid of the inactive user, solving their problem. Even if I couldn't get rid of inactive member this way, the problem of not getting to have your first choice username would not be that great anyway.

    - Risk. Cleaning the database of inactive users will cause the risk of someone accidently being deleted who wants to still be a member. Weight this against the fact that cleaning out inactive members isn't essential in the first place.

    - Time. It will take time to delete all inactive members.

I really just use Glitch, but someone has glitch and has 300+ posts, so i'm pretty screwed, and i had to use Glitch-X-
Acutually, can one of the admins check is this, glitch, has posted within 3months, if not, can i use the name instead?

I'll also P.M Llama about this.

Ugh... I've said this before, and I'm going to again.

    1. This has been suggested a kafillion times.
    2. Why would the admins and mods go through and delete every inactive member?
    3. It's a waste of time.
    4. They have lives and have better things to do.
    5. Active/new members could accidentally be deleted.
    6. It would make this site look like it has almost no members because about 1000+ members are active/new out of about 15000 members.
    7. If you don't get your name the way you want, then thats not our problem. You can't always get what you want.
    8. What if someone hadn't gone on GameRenders for a certain amount of time because of some personal issues and they got deleted before they got to come back? Then they get angry and Llamaman gets yelled at.
