i dont think heaven and hell exsists i beilieve the world was made by scientific reasons. so i dont think there can be such a place
yes theres such a thing as heaven and hell..but not the stereotypical white fluffy heaven and devil and fiery hell.
yes i believe in heaven and hell, and this topic has been brought up many times god created everything, and he gave us free will. with free will, humans have created evil.
Good, because that's all I care to hear about your opinion. Wait, here, I'll sink down to your level of opinion: Fu©k your opinion.
Tut tut bible boy, didn't Jesus say that you (as a christian) should show love to your fellow man and not hate? You filthy filthy sinner. ^_^ This has probably been said before but here goes: When talking about heaven and hell, are you talking about the heaven/hell that's described in Christianity/Islam/Judaism or the concept of "good place"/"bad place" in all religions? "Religion is the opiate of the masses" /Karl Marx
I never said I was perfect or trying to be perfect. The fact of the matter is, nobody can be perfect, so why attempt to pretend that I am? I can only aspire to be Christ-like, not a clone.
This has nothing to do with you not being perfect. It has to do with you judging someone else and then not feeling sorry for it. The issue with saying "I'm not perfect" is that in this situation, you used it as an excuse to justify attacking someone, with no evidence to show that you're sorry for having broken god's laws. Are you praying that god forgives you for it? Are you truly sorry for what you said? Or are you just another one of those wannabe followers that uses god as a scapegoat for sinning? "it's all good; God forgives, so I can do whatever I want."
Hehe, I kind skipped all the other posts after this, I'll check em later, but in response to that yes that's all you have to do, at least in the Muslim religion, you have to say" I believe there is only one God, who is to be worshipped and that Mohammed is his prophet, pretty simple. And then in response to your last post Coma, what if there is no God or if you don't believe in God and you "sin" (notice the quotations cuz sin is what we make of it) would you still be punished? Techincally by religious logic then no since there's no one to punish you for it, if God does not exist.
Huh? What does this have to do with anything? If God doesn't exist, then this whole argument flies out the window. We're arguing under the assumption that God exists and that he's God as described by the Christian religion. If it turns out he doesn't exist, then any idea of "sin" is completely meaningless unless we start equating "sin" with mere immorality (the study of morality exists beyond the scope of religion, after all). If God doesn't exist, then sin doesn't exist, therefore it's impossible to be punished for anything considering there's no god out there that I'll have to respond to. Now, if I don't believe in God, yet he still exists, then his rules still apply. I will be punished both for sinning and also for not believing in him.
I'm atheist, so i don't believe in god or satan. My own opinion about god is that people believe in it, because they need someone who they can trust. If you have a problem, and you can't tell it to anyone, god the perfect person to speak to. You can talk about your problem, and no-one will ever know about your problem. So that's how i see god. I see satan as someone that needs to prevent bad acting and mis-behaving. Satan is like the law, if you mis-behave, you'll feel the concequences. Heaven and hell are both there to guide people in doing good. Because it's all written in the bible, if you do good, and help people with problems, you'll go to heaven. But if you mis-behave, you'll go to hell. It's just to scare people off. But this is just my own opinion, and i'm not trying to convince anyone. So don't try to convince me, because i won't be affected by it. I don't need a god, or heaven to do good things. It's in my nature to do good things. I will allways help out people in need, even if i think they don't deserve it. I also have this so called "Donor Card" (i'm not sure which of you guys knows about it). When i die, i donate all my organs for transplantation. I see this as if it's the last thing i could do for people in need. And i'm happy that i know that i will be able to help people, even when i'm dead. I think this idea of donating organs is a part of being atheist. Because some religions believe that you "need" your organs in the life after death. This is where the spiritual thoughts of LA-384 ends
