Display Box.

Quick suggestion, anychance we can get a display box incorerated into the bottom of the front page to host the sig of the week winner's winning tag?

Sproose up the page a lil?

I don't really like it either, also looks a bit unprofessional in my opinion.
And I think Shaggy is the only one with FTP access, so he needs to update the front page every week. I don't think he has the time to do such thing.

Yeah building a mod in so it's done via ACP wouldn't be hard at all. But you would have to stick it at the bottom of the page, and so few people would ever see it. You could build it into Board Statistics, which at least would look ------ish, but it wouldn't get much attention really...

Plus, those that enter LAOTM or SDOTY would feel left out a bit :-/

Then again, it might get more older members involved in SOTW and leave the site looking more community based...so pros and cons :lol:

 

Well Gamerenders isn't really a graphic based forum, it's more a render forum, so I don't think we should turn it into a graphic forum too much

 

^ thats not true, the forums where meant for renders etc.. but now its more about sigs lp's and others..

anyway i think the sotw would get more attention by adding this

 

Face it Sacrifice, this forum is no longer about renders. Tags/sigs, wtvr, they're the main factor here now (if not simply the marketplace unfortunately).

 

when kazuya was around everyone used to render all the time especially when draven started rendering more aswell but im guessing hes a bit busy at present with his new position

 

yeah, I know I got caught up in that But I was talking about now, there's still rendering but less and less...i think it's partly because more people are using stocks and sprites/c4d/vector. Think about it, back when this place started Grunge was pretty much the top art form in sigs, and most people used renders for that style. Now, more people just use smudge or gradients and c4d, which is easier with stock :-/

Well im not fussed really i will never win coz i suck ... its definatly more of a gfx site here now, i think that came when artists used this place as a recource and a show of site ... i only became prem to use the cuts here. People do render less these days, for w/e reason, styles rotate like fashion.

Would be good to see more renders come out that arn't done just because its popular ... to many renders are the same, think theres 3 or 4 renders of the same optimus prime at the moment ...

 

it would be cool if it was on the top of the gamerenders.com/forum page. it would encourage more entries in the SOTW and get some more publicity for the winner. i like it.
