Not sure if this got answered already but if I get a render from here, and make say a wallpaper with it. Is it acceptable to put it on deviantArt?

I think the idea is this. When you do like a google search on say a game you will come up with hundreds of resalts of the same image. Those images are put up on the web by game manufcators to sell the game there by making it legal for use of the image as long as it is not discrimating against it or against anyone. DA work can only be found on DA and if you do a search you wont find 2 of the same things unless it was stollen. DA work is 1 persons work while most of what is on this site is games and other free to the public work. So basicly if you want to use somenes work on DA just send them a msg and most of the time they will let you because they get poblicity, which is what we do by rendering.

    Peace,
    Murdoc

    i have one simple question.

what if the ppl on DA got their work from someone else and just added a little to it then posted it there and says its theirs. cause im seeing a certain image called "fallen" on DA but its shown up on about 30+ ppls personal graphics sites only without the wording..

so yes.. if thats the case i can renderer it cause it didnt come from DA?

I posted this in another thread but it seems this one is active and I would like an answer on this..

First let me start of with this, I used this guys Image HERE in one of my sigs, Was asked to remove by you guys no problem with that. But I do have a question..

The same guy that did the above image did this one HERE. How come its not called ripping when he used someone elses work/concept to do that... YES I know he drew it himself its much harder then doing a sig but if you get down to it he didn't think it up out of his own mind.

Now the question: How come its OK for a hell of a lot of DA artist to use the concept of others work and post it, Yet we can't use their work and post it?

I understand if the work is their own (They made it up and drew it) but what about the ones where they just "re-draw" stuff?

Not trying to start stuff , Just wanting an answer.

kklown i believe its only because somepeople, like me, dont care enough to file copyrights onto their work and hence people can and will rip it without concequences, like ive seen a crapload of stuff on DA that probabely didnt come from those ppl there as those images have bin on the web since year 1999.

o and btw kklown, where did you get the pic on ur 3rd sig :$

but still, i dont believe its ripping for a single moment, except for those ppl on DA cause they do make a profit from it, at GR we dont do we? its for sigs, thats just to show personal artwork/graphics.. that doesnt generate any profit whatsoever

so yes i would like my above two questions answered, they have been bothering me ever since i read this topic

ok...I'm from DeviantArt. I have been informed that Marjiyn is using one of my copywritten photographs, one of my most popular photos which I sold limited rights to for $2,000 to a event promoter in Belgium. If he wants to pay a similar amount depending on usage for my photos great, if not. STOP RIPPING PHOTOS THAT ARE NOT UNDER STOCKS...this goes for everyone. Again LEGAL ACTION WILL BE TAKIN...if this problem is not corrected immediately.

As for many Deviant Artists, we are creating ORIGINAL works of art, Most of us don't make very much money, we are essentially the starving artists of the internet. We don't appreciate being informed that others are making money off or profitting in any way off our work when for the most part...we rarely do get those big breaks.

I have already seen a lot of copywritten work on this site and all I have to say about that is...if you are going to STEAL from someone, make sure it isn't the little guy. If I created work for Marvel or Dreamworks, then I would expect no retribution other than my fat paycheck for the work I've done... but please don't steal from the little guys, we don't make very much if anything off our work and we put a lot of time and thought into our work.

I'm not sure if credit is redeemable for actual cash on this site, but if you can buy or sell credit for actual money, then ANY trading of credits for "rights" to already copywritten artwork is ILLEGAL. To keep it simple, don't use art from DeviantArt unless it is posted under stocks and even then most people still require permission.

have a nice day GameRenders.com users.

    ----

as a side note, respect ORIGINAL artwork, I personally put a lot of thought and effort into the image which was ripped on this site and the personal story which accompanies it, the image which has been ripped and posted onto this site represents ME, my struggles with violence, gangs, street life in cali and my efforts to rid my life of the amoral people and create something positive out of a arduous situation, DO NOT ROB MY ART OF MEANING.
