Iv heard manp people on the net hate Dells, but idk definativly why. Could someone gimme a run down on why their so bad? Its about hardware compatability etc i know atm, but i need more indepth knowlege ty
in their older models - ----ty PSUs, proprietory parts, ----ty case(in terms of functionality and cooling) in their current ---- tech support, ---- price, ----tier PSUs, some proprietory parts(but not as many)
yup oh so true it was the same for me. My crap at home sucked and the ones at school were a lot better. Now that i have my own custom comp the ones at school are so slow
same here, and just looking through stuff I can see so many ways to make mine faster. If I were willing to spend the money, I'd have a few 15kRPM SAS drives in this system
they are awful in my tech class we get them often to fix. One time a person sent in their comp and tech support said " The motherboard is bad you need a new one." just to make sure i plug it in and it turns on not a single problem.
Cheap/ Proprietary parts, horrible power supplies (Mine died) even worse optical drives( every dell I've used has had a drive fail at least once, mine twice) and bad ariflow in cases (the newer ones are better though)
more expensive dells (mainly xps laptops and desktops) are great.BUT you end up paying 1000$ more than what its worth because dell adds on about 50$ extra price to each part.. Im getting the XPS 710 H2C for my birthday feb 28 th...my mom increased my budget for a gaming pc because it was intended for christmas but she didnt have the money xps 710 is like 5700 with 3 year warranty(it will be about 3800$ after discount) i mad a build similar on newegg and it was like 4000$ with 1 year warranty...so im going dell
dharmesha13 thats so not true give me the specs of your dell your gonna get and I will build it on newegg for ALOT less and it willl be a MUCH better pc
if you can somehow make a pc thats MUCH better than this for under 4000$ and with a 3 yr warranty on all parts go for it intel quad core 6700(factory overclocked) Dual nVidia 8800gtx 4gb ram at 667MHz 4 dimms 2x 160 GB 10,000 rpm hardrives 20.1 inch dell ultrasharp monitor Sound Blaster X-FI Extrem Music Liquid Cooling system Logitech G15 Logitech G5 3year in home service 1k power supply and a case with lights 7-slot BTX design motherboard
Well lets see, your mom didn't have the money then, and now you're making her pay that much for unneeded parts..? Alright, I don't know your family/economical situation, but you can probably think what I am thinking.. First, you Do Not Need a QX6700, a QX6600 is PLENTY sufficient, also factor in the ability to overclock with a non-dell motherboard. If you go custom, that will save you about $150. Second, you DO NOT NEED 4GB of RAM. You will notice near null difference between 2GB (especially once you overclock the RAM, which is very easy.) That can save your upwards of $250ish. You can get an 8800GTX, but an 8800GTS is just as good, and will last just as long as the GTX. In the future, if there is that small chance you need more power, you can put a second GTS in SLi (which would outperform 1 GTX.) So, right now I have a build put together, I'll try to list it best I can: $849.00 Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 $224.99 EVGA 122-CK-NF68-TR NVIDIA nForce $249.99 Patriot 2x 1GB DDR2-800 LLK $439.98 2x Western Digital Raptor 10K RPM 150GB $604.99 eVGA 8800GTX $149.99 Thermaltake Armor Series VA8000BWS Case $28.99 NEC CD/DVD R+RW $229.99 SCEPTRE X20WG-Naga Black 20.1" 5ms (GTG) DVI $229.99 ENERMAX INFINITI EIN720AWT ATX12V/ EPS12V 720W $52.99 Scythe SCINF-1000 120mm CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink $50.99 Creative Sound Blaster SB0610VP 7.1 Channels PCI Interface Audigy 4 $45.99 Logitech G5 $71.99 Logitech G15 Total: $3,229.87 If you want a water cooling system, minus $52 from that, then add like $150-$200. Something like this Sound card would suffice: http://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/Shoppi...N82E16829102011
Lets see... I've had to replace every part in my dell outside the motherboard. How's that for you? Wait, not true, I didn't have to replace the graphics card or case either. Other than those, it all died.
my step father had 3 fail all within 1 month of getting the system. crappy samsung drives. samsung makes ----ty drives, dell uses the cheapest ---- they can get away with.
well..as of christmas time we were literally broke..and my mom is getting a huge loan to pay off her mortgage and bankruptcy...out of the loan were getting like 10,000 cash back i think... my grades are good and so shes deciding to buy this and 2 concert tickets for my birthday All of the specs ive listed for the H2C are stanard for that package..and the point was he couldnt make a build that was MUCH better than that one I dunno id just feel retarded to pay 3200 for a pc build from newegg..when i can get top of the line for 600$ more ..Plus for 3 years if something goes wrong dell can send us the part and my mom can fix it (because she is a dell in home service tech) I know most people out here are kinda anti-computer company.but think of it like this.. Why go out and buy a shovel for 10$ when you can pay the kids next door to clean your driveway for 5$ I dont need to buy best of the best....but since i can get it at a lower price..why not? The reason i doubted a dell before was because of lack of gefore 8800 and this pc wil last until im old enough to buy another one... In about 7years ill be 21 Just because you have a horrid experience with a dell.it wont stop me from getting one My mind has been set.. Just throwing in my 2 cents
