I read the book, so the movie was a little boring. They didn't follow the book exactly at the end, but other then the very end scene they followed exactly. you must remember it may be fiction but some of it is based off fact. The dead sea scrolls contain nothing about Jesus marrying, however there are other documents. A preacher named jack sauniere did find ancient documents in his ancient french church, and very shortly after he became a millionaire, and the 'documents' dissappeared. In early christianity, most people did believe Jesus had a wife. without a central power I don't think if this was a lie that it would have gone very far. What is for certain, is that there is a large secret that the catholic church or sects of it have been keeping disclosed from the public since it's conception.
I'm a Catholic and a fan of the book but come on , you can't take it that seriously. I just thought the movie lacked..the books goodness. They went fairly gory for the flagellation scenes. >_>
great movie. loved it. like the way it made u actually think about what was goin on and so u really got into it. really awesome movie. go see it
It's a decent movie, not the best film released this year but i would recommend it. I would say it's more enjoyable if you have NOT read the book as you do not make a comparison. I think this was the main reason it was boo'ed at it's premier when first released. Just my guess though ^_^
