ok i want to setup a custm skin.
But i keep hearing people that it slows down the computer a lot and it freezes... is that really true? Is installing custom skins dangerous for a guy who uses his system for big scene rendering and animation rendering as such? like will it slow down the rendering time or freeze the pc in middle of rendering or osmething?
this is my system if anyone is curious

It wont slow it down if you use StyleXP and set it to use no recources, or use the Uxtheme.dll patch. If you use WindowBlinds, then it will slow it down because WindowBlinds is a huge recource hog.

And there is nothing "unsafe" or "bad" that can happen by using custom themes.

I reccomend the uxtheme.dll patch, its fast, easy, and skins are easy to find and install too.

It doesn't use muchg ram, I can't say none, because I'm not sure, and yes, it's very easy.

No it doesn't use up any more resources than the normal Windows XP Style skins because the normal Window XP Style skins are not running at the same time as the custom skins, whereas with WindowBlinds the new skins are just running over the original Windows skins and are not disabled.

BTW, it is very simple to get it back to the normal Windows skin... you just select it from the list where you select what skin you want.
