I don't get why this credits thing is for. A lot of people are so greedy about it, in my eyes who asks for credits looks so childish, it's just something imaginary those credits. I would rather stick to reputation. If someone really does a nice favour or something, you can raise it. But the credits ... are they necessary? As far as I know this forum is still for fun, and not a job ... maybe tell me your opinions about it. But I think we should be able to do things just for showing a favour sometimes.

you could call it a currency, most people on these boards are too young to have jobs and therefore have no money so they can pay people with 'credits' rather than real money, they can also be used to buy web hosting in the shop, change your name, title and even get the admin to install forum plug-ins in your forums. they are given to people as rewards aswell, eg for coming in the runners up in sotw or winning a battle.

    I think the creds are
    great fun
a way of saying thank you
    an insentive.

Also think it is educational in some way.
anything free will most likely get abused by some
and you take more care of something you had to pay for.
    trust me!

I pay my GR hosting with those credits.
When I download a render I always pay, none of that "if I use I'll cred", like how am I gonna remember who made that render when I use it in a sig one month later.
When I really like, I also credit.
Its easy to say : great stuff or thank you
but actually going thru the process of paying just gives your words that extra something.

I dont see anyhing wrong with it,pple just ask to to cred if you WANT to its not nessessary, maybe they want a web or something,so tehy save up for it w/o payign money for it. The way i see it is just fine the way it is,no one actually puts liens through render and forces you to pay so why care?
